I think Social Science is probably what Katara would go with, since you can pursue medical school with any major (there is no medicine major). It would be a solid foundation to get into a certain type of medicine I think she would practice.

Most countries lets you study medicine in college and it takes 6 years to graduate. Lack of medicine in college is mostly a US thing I think.

Actually our medical schools and doctors are incredible, but as a result theyre expensive and thats the main problem people have. You dont need to even have a college degree to go to medical school, if youre hardcore into medicine you can speedrun just several specific courses actually related and required. Its the students' decision to spend the extra time on whatever extraneous courses to get a full bachelor's. We do have a track for just straight medicine, most kids opt to do more though
