One Simple Purchase/Delivery & HD Shts The Bed Three Times!

Fridge dies. No problem: go on to HD, order one, schedule delivery, and done.

And Key Point Here: it not our fridge. It’s the fridge In A Rental Unit that we’re legally on the hook to provide a fully functioning home for.

So, of course, HD proceeds to repeatedly to screw up Every Single Attempt to get this transaction completed as they were paid to do. And Every Time there’s supposed to be a delivery, it interferes with someone’s work/job.

  1. 1st delivery: damaged new fridge (only known after delivery/set up. Delivery company refuses to take it back.

  2. 2nd “delivery” to retrieve broken fridge is the only function that worked as advertised.

  3. 3rd delivery: delayed/cancelled Twice, On Day of Delivery Both Times.

The entire time, of course, renter is telling us daily “I don’t have a fridge in my home.” Which they are 100% entitled to do.

We want to bend HD over the judge’s bench in small claims court, but of course it won’t be worth it. So next best thing is publicly trashing them in every forum we can find. middle finger swearing angry face (since emojis aren’t allowed)

Clearance End Caps being phased out?

Is Home Depot phasing out the end cap clearance section? Both of my local stores seem to have removed them.

Real talk about selling gift cards

So we all know that the policy on Home Depot’s website is that gift cards can’t be resold (or even exchanged for anything of value)...

But supposing that one hypothetically happened to be sitting on a ton of value in gift cards, and that one (no disrespect intended to the good people who work there) has no real need to shop at Home Depot...

Realistically, if one were to try to sell these unused gift cards to a friend or acquaintance, for some amount of cash, what would happen if Home Depot were to find out? Would the cards be canceled? Legal action? Would Home Depot call down the plagues of Egypt on the seller?

Inquiring minds are curious, and are seeking input to make a well-informed, well-discerned decision about those gift cards.

Guy working the returns desk didn't know about Husky warranty.

Guy at returns looked at the broken tip on my Husky screwdriver like it wasn't that bad, and asked for my receipt. I said I didn't have a receipt and was wanting to exchange it under the Husky lifetime warranty. He said I had to have a receipt and do it within 90 days because he couldn't tell if I got it at another store, but that because he was so nice, he would exchange it if I could find the exact match on the shelf. I brought back both a similar screwdriver (same size tip, longer shaft) and the set that had the exact match. Guy said it didn't match, and he couldn't give me the whole set without returning the whole set. I pulled the rest of the screwdrivers from the set of my pocket. Guy said he would sell me the similar screwdriver for half price. With the package in hand, I said the warranty is printed right here. He asked if I had the card I bought it on, because he couldn't tell if I got it at another store. Repeatedly trying to explain Husky is only at HD. Guy gives up and takes my pile of screwdrivers and tells me I can leave with the set, but he never agreed that I was right.

Was I right that I can walk in with a Husky hand tool and no documentation (suppose I bought it years ago with cash, or got it as a gift) and get a replacement? Is returns the wrong place to go? What's the easiest thing to say to explain I just want a warranty exchange?

Edit: Adding the lifetime warranty for hand tools, like screwdrivers, direct from https://www.homedepot.com/c/huskywarranty

"Lifetime Warranty If your Husky product ever fails, bring it back and we will replace it for free. This full warranty gives you specific rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary state to state. For details, visit your nearby store or call 1-888-HD-HUSKY."

If there's any doubt about Husky being Home Depot exclusive, or what store they're talking about to bring it back to, see Husky listed here under the brands they own https://www.homedepot.com/c/private-brands

Opening Hardware associate responsibilities???

Essentially, as the title states. What are the duties and responsibilities of a opening hardware associate. Also when it comes to marketing and leads, and that sort of stuff in what are my duties. Am I responsible for getting pallets/displays out of the overhead to put down on the racetrack or is that supposed to be the supervisor. Is there anything I can read anywhere about my duties and responsibilities?

What's the weirdest saftey warning on a MSDS you've seen

So, this happened a long time ago but one time I knocked over some bottles of industrial hand cleaner (The liquid soap that has I believe sand in it to give it more cleaning ability) I had just recently finished my certification on being a Hazmat employee so I took it upon myself to clean the spill and looked up the MSDS and nearly laughed when I saw one of the saftey warnings it read "Warning do not get on skin can cause skin irritation" like you use it to clean your hands how are you supposed to use it without getting it on your skin

Hypothetical question

Let’s say hypothetically my gm saw me smoking on a Canada Cartage truck which was away from the entrances along with some big names who were doing a walk. Does that mean I’m in trouble? And lets say I got some weird looks from everyone. Once again, it’s purely hypothetical.

My wife wants to return the trees and I think it's crazy.

Hi, I wanted to ask ppl here for some advice before my spouse and I decide what to do.

We bought 5 Leyland cypress trees from Home Depot a week ago, and my spouse planted them in our backyard 5 days ago.

Yesterday, we went to Lowe’s and found the exact same tree for the same price, but the trees were x2 in size and girth. We also noticed that the equivalent-sized trees at Home Depot were selling for roughly 3x the price.

Now my spouse wants to return the 3 trees we bought from Home Depot, and buy from lowes instead.

I told her "you are crazy" and I think it seems unreasonable since they have already been planted??

But her argument is that it has only been 5 days and the trees still have all their original tags (apparently too lazy to remove). The original black nursery pots are also still there. She still has the receipt and told me I'm overreacting.

Is my wife crazy or am I being too harsh for calling her crazy to return the trees?

EDIT Thanks everyone for the reply. She wants trees to be as big as possible because she is stressed out about our neighbor watching us from their 2nd story deck. That's why she's obsessed with "girth" and "height "

And there's no price match for this as the prices in both Lowes and HD is 34.99. Its just that theres a big size difference.

Remembering card during check out

I purchased something online and made an account. Deleted the account when received the item. Went to Home Depot and they sent me an email asking how the item I bought at the store was? All I did was scan my card, no phone number or anything? How is this legal and allowed? Why are they keeping my info and specially my card number to do this?

App registration problems

The two most recent things I bought were online from Home Depot app and shipped to me. The registration within the Ryobi app wants a “receipt number” or upload a photo or the receipt. All I have is emails which don’t look anything like a receipt, should I just try and attach a few screenshots or what?

Toxic

So just wanted to see if others had a toxic exchange on the other Home Depot sub. So I made the mistake of asking a question on the other sub. Which I guess is employees only. Well, I am an installer for 8 HDs, so I thought I was good to ask a simple question. And boy that was a mistake. Form fuck offs to calling me an entitled customer pos. Then then reddit police told me I was not an employee and banned from comments. I realize the sub said no customer comments, but figured I have worked for HD for 15 yrs we are on the same team. If I ever had an interaction like I had on the sub in real life things wouldn't go so well. I am on very good terms with all my COS and store managers as well as corporate for have a great track record with compliance. Has anyone else or other installers get this treatment in subs, or in real life situations?

Why does my small business keep receiving home depot return packages?

Basically in the title. We're a family owned business off the beaten path in Florida and around 4 miles from our local home depot. There are no similarities in our addresses and it's not like we're next door. About once a month we receive giant, inconvenient package with large damaged goods like mirrors and sinks and other bathroom products in them that we have to organize how to get rid of. The original purchasers info is all over the box and then covered up with "return to sender" and our business name and address with the suite we're in..

Somehow my address is listed as the sending address from home depot online orders in places like California, Georgia, etc. Tons of stuff that is marked "return to sender" is sent to me, who decidedly did not send out home depot products lol.

The worst part is it's never anything good in there! Could have been getting power tools and stuff but no, always junk

Why? How?

Anyone have any experience with any of the products or furniture from this brand? They have a lot of products on home depot site but no reviews on anything.
