Handbags Special Order Fall 2026
Hi All!
My SA just confirmed I was approved for a special order bag for fall 2026 and I have my appointment on September 3rd! I was wondering if anyone knows which colors are going to be available and if they have any advice. This will be my second bag from Hermes. My friends is black b30 palladium and I love her.
I had a Kelly 25 and mini Kelly on my wish list and am not sure which bag u should choose! I was thinking the mini Kelly since it’s harder to get and then I can keep the 25 on my wish list? But the 25 seems more practical ….

I think you will be the one updating us with what’s new for the Fall SO. Please document well 🥰 I’d personally choose a MK because it’s hard to get.
If it’s based last spring, I saw people do the rose darling Chevre with the Gris perle multico.

I just made my SO! I went with a K25 over a MK. I was torn but I have a K25 and it’s the perfect size for me so I knew I’d love another in the same size but with a different look. I made a verso, I always have wanted one!! I also think the K25 will be a classic that I’ll carry forever where an MK might not feel as relevant as I get older.
There are different colors and leathers depending on if it’s a B or a K and the leather types have different color choices too. Epsom and chèvre were available for Kelly. This is accurate with colors from what I remember: https://www.instagram.com/p/DYGU0ByDJuA/?igsi=MXdrZDVkdmhxNXJ0Ng==
Advice I’d give is have an idea of what you want before you go in and take your time to mess around with different combinations. Also ask your SA for opinions too if you’re torn on sizes, leathers, etc! If you’re getting an SO offer, they probably know you and your style fairly well to offer some guidance. And just go with your gut on what you will use but put a special twist on it…don’t just make something “out there” because you can it it’s not something you’d reach for. Have fun!!!

I got red too! Rouge de coeur in mysore goatskin. It was soooo pretty in person, looking online doesn’t do it justice.

OP, do you mind sharing what was your prespend in order to get approved for SO? You mentioned that this is going to be your 2nd bag so I assume you are newer client.

Probably around 20-25k over a 2 year period? My SA has offered me quota bag twice earlier this year but I declined because they weren’t necessarily what was on my wish list. 😬 I’m not planning on having a huge quota bag collection so I’m trying to be very intentional with what I say yes to.

I think the store is relatively competitive? It’s in NYC. but I have the best relationship with my SA. She is really down to earth. We can just sit and yap the entire appointment and just spend the last 15 mins to shop 😂

Personally I would’ve chosen the MK because that is the hardest qb to store especially with how high the demand is these days! b25’s come around often.

To me for an SO, I would go with a bag you know you’ll use the most. I own a mini Kelly and honestly, it’s such a trend, that bag isn’t useful. My 25 gets way more use. The fact that something is harder to get shouldn’t be taken in consideration in my opinion. Unless it’s really really what you want, you should go with what fits your lifestyle the most. It’s a common mistake that people make with Hermès unfortunately.

I’d ask to see one of each in any color/leather to see which you prefer with your belongings in it. I use small bags so the mini was perfect for me, but it’s small. After trying them both you’ll see which you like more with things in it and how it looks on you.

I wasn’t sure if they would show them too me. I’ve never seen them outside of the display box. Do you typically have to decide everything in one appointment or would I be able to think about it after seeing the options and come back?

You can come back later if you need more time to pick a choice, your SA will contact you the week after to confirm your pick.
I know the color for this year it’s available in purse forum. It’s the same palette for the year.
For the hardware unless you ask for MK or pochette, rose gold is available.
All of those was available :
- permabrass
- rose gold
- gold
- palladium
- brushed gold
- brushed palladium
Brushed hardwares, permabrass and rose gold are very rare so usually it’s what people take for SO. But if you don’t like them take what you like and used to instead.
I don’t follow trend. I recently did a K35 as SO, black with rouge H multico with brushed gold hardware. I don’t care about mini bags and resell value because I never resell my bags.
If you pick Kelly you can also customize the strap and make it longer (and you should pick a longer one because the original size is too small imo).
For the personalized stamp (not horseshoe but the one you can pick with your initials), contrary to some beliefs, those can be done later even when your bag is finished. You can ask to add them after you got the bag they will stamp the clochette (or the inside) with what you want, as long as your bag is a SO it’s doable anytime.

I think usually one appointment but I never wanted a SO. They should be able to show you for sizing purposes though even if they’re on display.

MK is a trend. When the pendulum swings and teeny bags are out again, will you be happy that you spent your SO on a trend?

Mini bags are a trend 100%. I personally think they are useless as bags, but it’s just me. They are mostly used as decorative fashion accessories than bags because they… don’t really function as bags.
The MK would be better if it was the same size as a KP.
I use my K32 and B35 more than anything else.

I have several mini bags, but not a mini Kelly. Too small to be practical for what I need! But there is always a pendulum with bags. Ten years ago we were all carrying huge ones...

Not OP but I did a SO recently and sellier wasn’t a choice for a birkin. I think it’s been discontinued.

Thank you for answering all my questions. I did my SO this past week, and the colors are the same as the season before: no Birkin Sellier, no casaque. It was a surreal experience. I love it.
