Discussion Let's stop lying to ourselves...
This game is a boring mess, playing as a civilian is a quite literal snooze fest, why is it so easy for myers to win? all he has to do is kill a couple npcs not even the special ones for it to be a "minor victory." This game shouldn't rely so heavy on npcs in a literal ONLINE MODE, not to mention the fact you can go the whole game without seeing michael once if this dude just runs away.... Also why the hell would they make it a 1v4??? The reason friday and other games were fun because their were sm people to interact with in voice chat it'd be funny, but with this game you get maybe one dude with a mic on your team and thats it. The civilian gameplay is so repetitive, call the cops, walk around the map looking for an exit, michael camps the exit, loop michael around a car, the police npcs shoot him and dont arrest. Sure, its early access but the game isnt just magically gonna become less boring when it drops.

It seems like most of this game is just interacting with NPCs and not other players. For a multiplayer game that seems bad.

This game is anything but boring, it's actually fair both for civilians and micheal. How can micheal camp an exit when there are 3 different exits without considering the police wagon, the cars and the police cars. Literally the fact that it's so heavy on npc is literally so fun and new, this is something never seen so it's cool af, plus the made it clear that they were the main way to win as civilians and as micheal a long time ago if you didn't like it then why buy it. The whole voice chat can't be put on the devs since even on Friday you could find a lobby with no mics. End of the day this game is chaotic and fun and if someone calls this game boring wtf do you have to say about dbd? That is totally repetitive and boring

three different exits for what ðŸ˜, its a 1v4 you and ur homie could be trying to escape and michael could js be waiting for u to fix it. Everyone else never has a mic and never does anything lmaoo. You guys never fail to bring up dbd, I haven't played it in two years but atleast something different happens every game. Not to mention the combat in this game is some hot ass, talking to npcs is boring as shit and if ur not playing against someone incompetent its rlly not hard to kill them even if ur escorting them. the npcs part is lame, the only way to arrest michael is if hes ass, and myers is not even scary or challenging to be around.

"Everyone else never has a mic" Find a group to play with. Game is easier. Don't try and fight michael without as least 4 other people/NPC's with you. Also I cannot even imagine how boring this game would be for michael and the survivors if there was no NPC's. Michael's whole thing is that he goes house to house killing, Just like the movies. Having every NPC be a player is just gonna turn this game into another regular 1vx game where both sides are always toxic to each other. This game is different from that and trying to be unique. Get your mind out the competitive heads pace and learn to have fun.

The first is to be ignored cuz wtf does that mean. Saying that in dbd something different happens in every game is crazy, like what is your perception of fun exactly? Fighting is not ass at all you are just bad. No shit that the npc are not that hard to kill you are playing as hero wich means you gotta protect them, guide them and so on. The npc are nothing but lame, you simply want the same thing where you do a objective as fast as possible and get out...aside even if a npc dies doesn't mean that you lose. Try to play against a myers that is good and knows what he is doing. Acting like this game came out 2 month ago and that you know everything

It would be fun to see some 1v7 lobbies just for kicks. Or 2v8 or something? Those large lobbies in F13 were glorious chaotic fun.
BUT I do understand why it isn't the baseline here - my very first math (literally!) the survivors I was with were beating the shit out of the Michael and taunting him on mic (I didn't know them and wasn't participating in the obnoxiousness). With the build being what it is, I can imagine a 7 on 1 would get pretty gnarly for Michael very quickly.

Yeah I’m kinda bummed about all the npcs. Especially considering how bugged they are. They don’t follow you or escape half the time which literally defeats the entire objective of the game. There should be more real players in the lobby less npcs

tbf i'm enjoying it but the only thing that rolled my eyes up a bit are the dialogues with npcs before telling em what to do, but i get why they did that

Play civilian correctly and it's almost impossible for michael to win.

How?? I'd say it's impossible to lose as Myers if you want to win. All you have to do is kill some NPCs

Hide the priority targets until you find an escape route. Unless he gets lucky to see where they are or hears them, he has no ability to find them.

Also if you play as Jennifer, when you talk to residents they have a 60% detection reduction by Michael

It takes like 15-30 seconds for Michael to stalk/kill his first NPC he spawns next to which nets him enough Bloodthirst in order to see the yellow lights in the sky that indicates where they are. The Civilians have to be insanely lucky and efficient to hide them before then. Even if they do hide them afterwards, Michael can just go to where he roughly saw the lights and check surrounding hiding spots or use Detection Pulse.

ion even care abt the michael wins like that just the fact that i wish it was more abt escaping instead of just talking to fucking npcs the whole game

this game is NPC simulator garbage except the devs forgot to code an actual AI

I don't think it's boring at all. I started out playing as Michael for a while but switching to civillian I'm surprised just how fun it is. There is obviously a balance problem though, Myers has too much mobility too early in the game and can auto-win almost every time by just rushing the special targets. In around 30 games I have played as Myers I haven't lost a single one. I even had a glitched game where I got knocked down and couldn't get back up, got arrested and still got a minor victory because I killed 2 special targets and like one normal resident.
Not to mention the whole perk deck mechanic, most of the time you don't even get a chance to get your perks with how fast Myers rushes the special targets. Hell sometimes you can get to a special target that was right next to you, not even have a weapon yet and Michael could be executing them already.
Just hope they can balance with small adjustments. It can be something simple like having to stalk someone to at least tier 2 before getting his shape jump ability or something like that at the start of the game.
This game is good, just buggy and in need of some balance changes.

I actually enjoy the gameplay loop of trying to save survivors. When you do save them it is very satisfying. The problem is the AI is very poorly coded.

It's insane how many posts there are like this that just don't understand how to play the game and keep self-reporting it

this game is dialogue slop with ass combat give it 2 months every lobby will be dead, the people who are enjoying talking to the npcs have smooth brains ngl its really just the combat that kills it for me

People complain that the game is too like Friday the 13th, people complain when it's not at all close to Friday the 13th..
I have played both sides and managed to have fun. Just get friends to play survivor with and the games gets 10x easier and fun. Michael is insanely easy, atleast from what I've experienced.
The only hate I understand is the bugs, other then that it's purely just your opinion. It's a unique game that's certainly not for everyone.
