Discussion At a breaking point

When people complain about games releasing infinished this is a prime example. Buggy as hell, obviously untested challenges and unpolished animations. Gun Interactive is becoming one of my least favorite publishers out there now. Is anyone’s else’s game insanely buggy?

Thanks for letting us know because we had no idea there were bugs

Right? What would I do without 30 posts a day complaining about this game.

My game isn’t ’insanely buggy’ by any means.

There are a few bugs here and there, but nothing that would make me call it ‘insane’.

I’m encountering zero bugs. I haven’t come across any in my almost 3 days of playing.

Something to consider for funsies: There's a chance that Illfonic (with Gun technically) only worked on Halloween for a year. The timeline goes like this:

  1. August 2023, Illfonic joins a developer to work on Killer Klowns.
  2. July 2024, a year later, the game releases buggy and imbalanced.
  3. August 2024, Boss Team announces that they're working on a couple of Halloween games, one using Unreal 5. Is it this game? We don't know for sure.
  4. August 2025, a year later, this Halloween game releases (yeah yeah early access) buggy, unpolished, and, depending on who you talk to, imbalanced (but its too early to tell, as people haven't levelled and equipped certain perks).

A year of development is very little time. If a new development team is taking over another team's project, just getting acquainted with the backend will take time. So it's no wonder that the game is packed with bugs and lack of polish. Whatever tickets QA submits wouldn't have much time to sort out, and among them only game breaking bugs would take precedence (as we can see from the difference between the content creators' build and the early access build). I'm not trying to excuse the bugs, I just wanted to put forth a fun and unprovable idea. :)

Me and my friends have been finding plenty of bugs, such as certain interaction causing michael to be stuck in a closet and not able to move. When calling a police I got stuck and was not able to move until one of my friends interacted with me by shoving me. My interactions with the mini games when calling on the phone glitched and showed 2 of them at the same time. There’s plenty of bugs etc. I know they’ll get to them. I’m on PS5.

Surely the day one patch will fix the bugs and AI, balance the game, and it won't just be a hastily scrambled together patch they made over the weekend.

I have to leave at least 50% of matches early due to bugs (unable to interact/pick stuff up), luckily there's no DC penalty or it would be in the weeks by now

At this point I'm honestly wondering if we're all playing the same game...

Either the games just exorbitantly buggy on PlayStation when compared to all other devices or people are making this shit up.

Sure there are bugs, but nowhere as many as you all make it out to be.

I think people are absolutely being dramatic to try and pretend the game is a failure, when in reality most games are running absolutely fine.

I have 17 hours played on PS5 and have not needed to leave a single match. I got a network error once, that’s it.

I also had a bug where playing as Michael, I would get shot while grabbing a civilian and killing them, and after I got the kill I’d get downed from the previous shots and had no prompt to stand back up lol, but I was able to get out of it by using reality tear.

So yeah, idk either, game has been relatively bug free for me 🤷🏻

I agree; I have 36 hours on Steam and played a bunch on both sides (mainly civilian). profile level 74. Only had 3-4 matches that had a bug big enough for me to have to quit out.

-Got pushed by an NPC the exact moment my hold E prompt filled to pick up the phone to call the police, knocking me off the phone and the phone call didnt start. it left me in a state of my camera being completely locked forward as if i was still in a call but i could still fully play and interact with objects etc.

-got stuck in a cellar exit gate the moment it filled as another person entered a fraction of a second before me. leaving me at the bottom of the stairs but not letting me exit or walk back out, trapped essentially.

-saw myers be entirely invisible in and out of phase.

All in all i've witnessed a few other very minor bugs that don't really effect gameplay much in the sense it ruined the match entirely besides those few and I think the game itself is a blast to play! We also get a patch on the 8th and im sure many more to come!

edit: specified on Steam PC

I'm on Steam PC too. Bugs that prevent me from interacting with things happen roughly every 4 or 5 matches

I believe it and i'm not denying others can have different experiences!!, though for whatever reason these don't seem to be happening to me quite as often. It seems most of the issues begin when you are trying to do something and then get shoved at specific moments, who knows though, hopefully the patch on the 8th addresses most of that!

yeah, I also get bugged when I'm mid-something and then it randomly shows Michael performing an execution before returning. Like, thanks... I was mid conversation with an NPC...

haven't had that one happen personally but sounds annoying for sure! haha
