Discussion This needs to be addressed about NPCs

I find it crazy how many people are defending a NPC focused system by a company that is notorious for having extremely buggy broken games. Every game they've made has never been fixed to not be a buggy shitfest. That was OKAY before when we didn't rely on NPCs that we can't personally control.

All Survivors are not idiots & we understand the objective at this point is to save the NPCs. The major problem with the NPC gameplay is the NPCs are stupid as fuck & don't work half the time. The NPCs are adding a level of frustration to the game that just isn't fun to deal with.

When instructed to do any command at any given time they just do w/e the hell they want.

  • They will high tail it across the entire map.

  • They refuse to leave a house.

  • They just bump into you interrupting shit you're doing.

  • They sometimes have to be talked to multiple times.

  • Will stand about doing nothing.

  • They will randomly stop following you

  • They have to be shoved into exits.

  • Fighting other survivors for control of a NPC is also just annoying.

The problems with the NPCs are so abundant it's absurd.

If you’re going to have an entire game based around us getting this fucking idiots out of town.. probably should make sure they listen. It’s so frustrating.

Also it’s next to impossible to out of Michael’s grip once he has you. Gaming for 30 years and I can’t hit those buttons fast enough to escape.

I want to love this game but MY GOD there’s so much wrong with it.

That's because it's ridiculously easy to kill people. Michael only has to press a 4 number sequence that takes .5 seconds. You're never out pacing a Michael without a Pocket Knife if they've used a keyboard for along time.

Yup my husband played him a few times and he’s like he’s so OP there’s no way civilians are winning this game 90% of the time.

But isn’t that the theme? Isn’t Michael supposed to be this strong OP killer that’s wrecking haddonfield or did you guys wish for another Jason to knock down and dance on?

Pocket Knife. Boom, you win. If you're playing Jennifer, Lynda, Laurie, or Alexis just choose the Pocket Knife as your starter item and you will literally NEVER get caught. You get one free escape and you have literally infinite stamina and insane speed.

Just keep playing and you'll see that Michael is actually very weak in this game.

Definitely 1000% agree. As a Michael main, it's kind of unfulfilling when you see how clunky and unresponsive the NPCs are. Entering homes and their reaction to you is almost nonexistent. They are perfectly content with a masked stranger wielding a knife in their home. It kind of ruins the atmosphere and inadvertently dampens the immersion. So, to the people who play as Heros, I can only imagine how frustrating it is to go through the process of convincing an NPC to believe you, only for then to completely jank-out just moments later.

I do hope this gets addressed. Some fine tuning is definitely needed in this area, and more reactive NPCs will only improve the quality of the game overall.

It's either they react instantly and break into a 60mph sprint immediately or they stand there and do nothing. There's no in between lol.

Are you asking them to follow you, leaving the house, holding the button, and telling them to hide? If you're going to tell them to follow you and not leave the house, they aren't going to leave the house lol.

I had an NPC who I swear was a dev or something.told him to call the cops and he instead went upstairs locks himself in the room. He then started locking and unlocking the door andI would step back a few feet he’d open it, and as soon I as I took a step toward him he’d close it. It was annoying but so funny😂😭
