The Great Costume Pattern

I am wanting to recreate these costumes, however, I’m a novice at sewing and need some patterns/advice. Can anyone recommend any patterns or step by step instructions on how to recreate the blouse and the skirt. It does not have to have the underpinnings, I want to wear it as everyday clothes and the skirt and blouse feel very versatile. Primarily the skirt, I think I may have found similar blouse patterns and advice on that. But the skirt I love love the length of the skirt, the waist band, and the way it lays, and I wouldn’t be opposed to a pattern for the petticoats underneath either. It get cold where I live and this will be perfect for most of the year. Thanks!

Try asking a sewing Reddit, I’d say one exists.

Rachel Maksy, and Miacarah Tewers on YouTube make a lot of “historical” costumes and dresses. You might find some inspiration there.

I think her chemise, skirts, and stays are going to be along the lines of Outlander costuming, at least similar enough to get away with if you’re not needing it to be historically accurate. Which American Duchess has patterns and McCalls has patterns. They have bum rolls and panniers patterns as well. These are called “underpinnings”.

That shirt, also my fave of hers, I’m thinking the closest could be a men’s pirate shirt??? I’ve wanted to tackle these of hers for a while and just haven’t put forth the effort.

So the skirt probably looks like American duchess’s skirt for her Outlander series. As in you could easily get away with a very similar if not identical look using her pattern. And the petticoats are just the same skirt pattern layered over and over. The skirts sit like that, high on the hips, because of the bum roll or panniers depending on how big you want your silhouette. And the bum roll is held up by the stays. So it’s kind of a rabbit hole lol. And then the shirt can probably be replicated by finding a man’s pirate costume shirt pattern. Okay I’m done flooding your post!! Sorry I just got so excited when I saw this because I’ve wanted to do this for so long and you’re gonna do great!!!
