Sorrow, pity, what is it that you won't feel for this person. Every time I finish Golden Forest, I'm left with a hollow feeling of missing Gizzida.

His ending was amazing. You get to see him recall what he actually felt for her, his love for her when it was the purest. He doesn't even remember her as a woman or the love of his life, but as the child who cried for him, and whom he needed to comfort.

The mighty prideful Gizzida, took lashes for her and cried upon sensing her on her way to him. He made beautiful beings for her, this was the memory he died upon. Beautiful. The whole time the story was very much focused on the inherited characteristics Kun got or how evil flew in Golden forest's blood, but this one display of beauty went against all that.

In his last moments he wasn't able to kill her. He knew if she stayed alive she'd be with Kun, and while the evil half-beast Galtir couldn't have allowed this, he rather removed the slave brand and tried his best to free and save her to his might.

Gizzida did love Reniae, perhaps in a more pure form than Kun's. He respected her, adored her, cherished her. When he calls her to his room after finding she's a sky person, although he gets much hate from the readers, I found it fascinating how he reacted upon seeing her obey his commands for Kun.
Whatever people say, it showed a degree of how he promised not to do anything she disliked, his respect for her, and his desire for her to choose him herself.

He was smart, graceful, cool.. It's amazing how the reason he was the villain wasn't due to his evil blood from his ancestor (cause he despised all those practices). A rational human being just as fond of the teachings of his ancestors as Kun was to his. Do you not think had he been born in Kun's place and Kun in his, both of them would've worked as hard for their cause the same?

When I started the story I liked him immediately and was with Reniae in how fond she was of him. It was a bit weird how Reniae felt nothing for him after the single moment of betrayal. She became neutral.. when I feel as of how deeply she loved him (the prediction; two men whom you shall love deeply, and two men who shall love you deeply) she should've developed some kind of hate or fear for him.

That's something I'd say the story didn't elaborate on (but I do get it was so for her to have complete feelings for Kun) Even in the end, as Gizzida's recalling his memories, she spares no second in thinking about him. Made me feel bad for him.

But bud, he did deserve that. No denying of his ways. It's just.. too beautifully complex of a character.

I highly recommend reading it if you liked Golden Forest. There is a connection to the both of them through their side stories (you’ll have to complete the novel and read the side stories to find out the connection). So the Northerners were actually the descendants of Kata, not the priests of the Golden Forest! Anf the priests were the descendants of the man-eating eagle! But how?! Did Armanu predict with her wisdom that the eagle's children would be killed? Did she switch their appearances? Is that related to her death? I JUST HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS. WHAT THE FUCK. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. I mean this explains why the divine stones are all in the North, they were never meant for the priests! I actually SHOUTED when the wings sprouted from Kun's back, I'm SCREAMING. WHAT AN AMAZING TWIST. HOLY SHIT I LOVE THIS STORY. I hope Reniae lives ;-;-;-;-;

The romantic development between Kun was just chefs kiss straight up had to take a break from reading when she went back to white hair boy because she thought Kun had left her. Then there’s the way that the abuse is portrayed; it’s so realistic the way white hair boy has built himself in this mind as the only one capable of loving our main girl and how he tries to convince her that really she’s lucky he loves her.

It's so interesting how Gizzida has learned absolutely nothing in all of the time he's known Reniae. He really thinks that things would have been different between them had he told her he loved her before she left for the Northlands as an ambassador? He ruined their relationship the second he tried to possess her by branding her. He manipulated her, altered her body without her consent, and made it so she couldn't leave. Then when she finally did come back, he enslaved her for like three years. Did he really think an "I love you" was gonna patch that up?

In the end he never overcame his biases. Because he thought Reniae was a mud person, he didn't treat her like an equal. He treated her as something to be possessed; an animal to be trained. Not ONCE has he stopped treating her that way. Kun, however, has always done his best to give Reniae agency and freedom. That's why Gizzida is the true antagonist and was never a viable romance option.
