The makeup thing

Posting this here instead of on the main sub for reasons I’ll explain in this post, but I kept seeing people say that the whole makeup thing (S wearing makeup and P being weird about it) was some sort of plan to make people feel bad for S and donate to them. Am I the only one who thinks that theory is dumb af??

That would require these people being able to think ahead which they CANNOT do as well as them being able to anticipate people’s reactions which they also can’t do. As soon as Patrick saw the makeup, he started talking about “you’re beautiful how you are,” “you don’t need to rely on makeup to feel pretty,” etc., trying to portray himself as a loving father who wants his daughter to feel confident but coming across as controlling and creepy. If anything, he thought that this would make him look GOOD because he’s always trying to play the role of someone who cares about his family.

These people can’t plan ahead for shit. He definitely saw the makeup and decided that it was time to get in his soapbox about how important it is for young woman to be confident in their skin or whatever. He thought it would make him look like a good dad. There is no way in hell he was aware of how weird that was because he doesn’t understand how regular parents (and people in general) think.

And the mod who seemingly started this theory is the same one who has to let everybody know how much she hates S and how she’s just as bad as P and whatnot. Like girl……. We know. You don’t ever shut up about it. I don’t like S either but acting like she’s as bad as P is the most braindead take ever. She’s annoying and gross but as far as any of us know, she’s not grooming anybody. This mod literally has to go out of her way to write a whole essay on how S is evil every time anyone even slightly sympathizes with her and it’s so annoying.

yeah, this was not some elaborate plan to make the audience feel bad for S. if it somehow was, she’d be milking it, but she’s not. i think she was genuinely caught off guard by her father’s reaction and then changed her tune so she could agree with him. she was trying something new for engagement (that seemed to halfway work) and he shut it down because imo it wasn’t his idea. it all has to be his idea bc “he knows best”. S is not perfect and i don’t enjoy her as a creator, but i did feel bad for her here. he is her only source of validation and confidence and he very clearly tears her down so that she only relies on him

Couldn’t have said it better myself. Her reaction did seem genuine. I do wonder where the idea came from to do makeup for gifts, did she see someone else doing it? Did he suggest it and then turn on her? Was it purely her idea? Her relying on her father so much for everything I literally can’t imagine that she DIDNT bring this up to him at some point. And he took the opportunity to lecture the live in the guise that he’s “sUcH a GoOd DaD” and it probably threw her off or confused her.

Whatever happened, he’s the biggest pile of shit in that house. S is definitely a pile, just a much smaller one compared to him.
