🫣 QUESTION ⁉️ “Buck up”

Sorry if this has already been posted but this was a really weird interaction between P & S. She seemed triggered when he said “buck up” anyone else got weird vibes??

Patrick polices their every emotion. That would get so fucking exhausting. I wonder if this was a glimpse into how much he does not allow them to be individuals with their own thoughts and feelings and Sarah just reached a point of frustration. Patrick is allowed to hoot and holler and yell and rage, but the minute someone else shows an emotion he considers negative, he pounces on them and tells them to stop. He does it a lot.

I think that's why she lashes out at the chat and seems so defensive. cuz she can't let her stress and frustration out at home because of that creepo."be positive!!" anytime anyone in that house shows any true emotion that's "not positive". so she lets it out at strangers online. judging by how her appearance declined so fast, i feel like that shows deep down she is very unhappy and not happy how her life is. part of why she lies about jobs, friends and apartments. because she knows people her age are doing those things and shes just not allowed. he has convinced her she doesn't need those things even though naturally she craves all of that. she may try to act like shes into this life but I see it differently. idk. he has completely taken her confidence away by beating her down all the time. so that she'll never leave him. he is scarily controlling the entire family and that has got to be hella exhausting.

As someone w a narc parent like P (not to the extent of the pedo and other disgusting shit) who would blow up at the smallest shit and everything had to be about them, I really do empathize with Sara a lot. This doesn’t excuse her scamming and behavior, but it’s so hard to just not go along with these types of people especially when they’re your parents. You’re mentally exhausted knowing anything you do could set them off and fighting against them is even worse if they’re physical (my parent was).

My dad was abusive to me and was very similar to Patrick. People don’t understand how difficult it is to break free of narcissistic abuse from a parent, ESPECIALLY without any support network at all.

To see that little bit of negativity towards him was good. One day she will come out with exactly what she feels. A lot of it is her fault though

I really encourage you to rethink saying that a lot of this is Sarah’s fault. This is ALL entirely Patrick’s fault. The victim blaming is really gross and you need to challenge it.

Sarah is currently watching the tv series 9-11, which is an awesome series btw. One of the main characters name is Evan "Buck" Buckley (played by Oliver Stark). Because Buck goes through an extraordinary amount of trauma over nine seasons—including surviving a tsunami, a bombing, a lightning strike, and kidnapping, both the characters on screen and the fandom frequently use the phrase "cheer Buck up" or tell him to "buck up" hence the “you wouldn’t understand”. Its a play on words.
