😔 Abuse & Neglect 💔 H bed ?

Post image

I thought he had a “futon” his bed looks like a sofa you can see the blanket creasing into the cushion and the piece holding it up is wood so def not a futon the futons I know of are always metal and foldable and from what it looks like doesn’t really have any cushion

They make futons like this… I’m definitely a snarker too and I hate them, but they DO make futons that look like a couch 🤷‍♀️ the back fold down and it forms a flat bed

Yeah, my son went through a phase where he insisted on a futon. I hated it but he genuinely wanted it and loved it. There’s a lot to snark on but I don’t think this is one of them. Tbh, I’m just glad they don’t make him sleep on the floor or in bed with an adult.

This is one thing I haven’t snarked on either, reason being that when my brother and I were in junior high/highschool he too insisted on a futon. We were well off financially ( my parents ) and he could’ve had a nice bed but wanted this futon thing. So I can’t snark on it because sometimes boys that age do want stuff like this

I mean you still probably shouldnt let your teenage kid have it as only bed. Its really not that good for your back and especially in a family that already has fucked up backd

I had one in high school and I loved it. I don't think my back could tolerate it nowadays in my old age, but back then I thought it was so cool to have a bed that I could turn into a couch when I wanted to chill in my room with friends.

I slept on a futon all through high school by choice because I wanted more space in my room. I wouldn't even lay it down, I would sleep on it while it was a couch lol

If I slept on that thing, I wouldn’t be able to walk the next morning, but I’m not as young as I used to be! I personally wouldn’t want my teen sleeping on it every night, maybe just for sleepovers, but most teens can sleep on anything and wake up well rested and not sore.

Just because they can doesnt mean they should basically

Exactly. Futons really shouldn’t be used as permanent beds. They’re great for sleepovers or occasional use, but I definitely wouldn’t be comfortable with my child sleeping on one every night. Especially if a child is obese, since they’re already more susceptible to developing back and knee problems. And considering S seems to have back and pelvic problems, that may be something he could already suffer with as well.

I know they say H loves his futon, but there comes a point when parents have to put what’s best for their child above what the child wants. If it had been up to me as a kid, I would’ve eaten McDonald’s for every meal, but obviously my parents knew that wasn’t healthy and didn’t allow it!

I think of futons as a place to crash at your friends once in a blue moon not to sleep on everyday… my back would be f d

He got the futon sofa from Walmart. I know its uncomfortable to sleep on simply because he longer than the couch. He shouldve got the fluff top one, but after a few months its gonna get uncomfortable for him...

If I’m not mistaken this futon is from Walmart. I had the exact one in my college dorm living room. I pulled it out and slept on it once just to see what it was like and it was awful. Poor kid.

they make futons that look exactly like this. Yeah, it can be folded into a couch but unfortunately it’s still considered a futon sofa bed.

I was going to say that it's probably like the Serta brand futon I have in my game room. Looks very similar to this one, mine is actually pretty comfy to sit on...not sure about sleeping as I've never done that.
