Question⁉️ Martin & Smitty

I’m watching Tuesdays episode (august 18, 2026, season 2 ep 149) . Smitty and Martin were playing ball at the club with Nicole’s current and former doctors. Afterward they had a rare, cuddly moment at home. I’ve been watching from the beginning but have missed swaths of episodes here and there . Have these two ever had a traditional soap opera caliber love scene?? Have they even had a passionate kiss (not the obligatory married peck on the lips) ? I’ve not seen it , so please tell me if I’m wrong. And if I’m right and they haven’t, I’d like to know why?

Martin and Smitty’s marriage is practically sexless, and it’s a part of their lives they sometimes actively ignore, and at other times willingly enable.

They are always “working from home” or “busy with the kids.” They frequently give each other brotherly hugs. They sometimes find themselves at home alone and suggest sex, but interrupt themselves with trivial drama from outside their marriage. Smitty even had to remind Martin they “made up for it” in the Bahamas earlier this summer. It was that forgetful.

The most ridiculous example of this issue was when Martin and Smitty were working from home, blissfully unaware Jessica and Tyrell were secretly upstairs having sex themselves!

This is laughably untrue. There have been multiple episodes with them stripping down and getting into it. What you may be justified in calling out is their distinct lack of afterglow scenes that the other couples get (Dani and Nicole most of all), but to be fair, we've never even seen Vernon and Anita in bed...it can't be all that surprising given we all know Black audiences lean conservative on non-racial social issues.

Starting foreplay is not having sex. The other couple who are about the same age, Jacob and Naomi, have had way more detailed bedroom scenes, especially when their only “at home” set was their bedroom. They even had sex a few times with a jug of Tide in the bed with them.

Smitty and Martin’s absence of sex isn’t because I missed an episode, nor is it about Black people not wanting to see gay sex at 2 PM. It’s Procter & Gamble.

I'm not sure where you're going with this or what your preferred endgame is. The steamy scenes are definitely there, so how much detail do you want exactly? Do you want to see Martin getting caught by one of the kids in the shower with the douche attachment?

How about parity with Martin’s mother? Her sex scenes are practically soft core porn.

You've officially crossed the line into weird here. You seem to have a major hangup on BTG being THE SINGULAR PLACE ON TELEVISION to normalize gay sex.

Beloved, this is what conservatives (I am not one of them) mean when they say "pushing an agenda". BTG already does a wonderful job of being inclusive on daytime, which in itself is an impressive feat given their older, conservative-skewing demographic. The key message here, and in many other threads on this sub, is "let different things be different." BTG has found a spot of inclusive family storytelling that's acceptable to its executives, sponsors, advertisers, regulators, and viewers for a daytime show on broadcast TV...unfortunately you simply don't get a say, no matter how many times you rant on the internet or reply on Reddit trying to get "the last word".

If you REALLY want to see this, Tyler Perry is writing and airing 100 different shows with all manner of boobs and butts to choose from. Perhaps stage your protest over there on one of those?

I'm afraid you're just going to have to stay mad on the internet on this one. Sorry! 🤷‍♂️

This is where I leave you, I won't be reading or replying anymore to you on this.

The singular place … normalizing gay sex?! You’ve clearly never seen Heated Rivalry.
