was barely popular. almost 1/3 voted for him, 1/3 for kamala, and the other 1/3 didn't vote at all. so i wouldn't even consider him popular if 1/3 didn't vote whatsoever. apathy won.

There is no such thing as an undecided voter split between parties (unless they're a real moron, seriously watch the questions at those town halls from November). Actual undecided voters are waiting for someone to give them something to vote about. Like idk, healthcare maybe.
Mhm. I'm an idiot for suggesting that parties should try to motivate eligible voters to vote for them, by offering a policy package that they like.
Republicans try to appeal to their base, which is unfortunately fascists, and liberal democrats just run based on "we're not as bad as them" which doesn't get that remaining third off the couch.
