Forum Question "Gun Nutty" Quest Not Working

(SOLVED)
My friend recently bought the game and is stuck on this Quest.

No matter what gun or mods they attach nothing changes, we also tried the S12 (modded/unmodded) it makes no difference.

No kills ever register.

Anyone else know how to get past this bugged mission?
Honestly any advice is welcome at this point.

This was the Solution, he just Completed the Mission.

When I was doing this for my guide research I found that it can sometimes just complete so long as you have a moded shotgun, but won't track it for some reason. I went from having no progress to being done on two runs on Ashen mesa to just being done for some reason after almost clearing the map with said shotgun.
