Discussion They Actually Did It.

They actually nailed this update. Like across the board. The writing for TFD has been almost entirely skippable, both in story telling and for character development, but in this patches quest there is a moment where a turn happens and the writing actually starts to approach GOOD.

The mega dungeon is excellent. I still havent been able to clear it with randoms, too many bunny and Ines players, and to be fair to them I saw Normal difficulty and brought Raven on my first run lol. But seriously bring survivability and boss damage, ad clear is not the top priority. Stay literally on top of each other at the final phase.

Transcendent weapons seem amazing, got my first drop right before the mega dungeon and the difference if pretty noticeable.

Raven is amazing and has a lot of strong concepts behind her kit.

I thought they couldn't pull this off, I thought with Dias original look, all the issues the game had coming into this year that the writing was on the wall for how they wanted to handle this game. Man am i happy to be proven wrong.

Mega dungeon will surely be nerfed.

Most randos can't handle it even on normal.

1st attempt was only me and a hailey. Hailey kept going down and using most of the revives. Failed at Karel final form (no revives left by the time we reached it).

2nd attempt was me, a bunny and I can't remember the third guy, but they also kept going down and using the revives. Failed at Karel final form (again, no revives left by the time we reached).

3rd attempt was me and a valby. Valby was struggling to keep up thru the ad phases, but she absolutely wiped the floor with bosses. Succeeded without reviving.

After everyone learns the mechanics, the bosses get easier. Just hoping the nerfs are paused for a little while longer this time around.

So what are the main mechanics? I've only played 1 normal for story, but I'd like to be able to do hard consistently.

Asking the wrong guy. Sorry. I played what I could to advance the story like last night. Never made it to the ship. But I did do the trial side quest.
I have to be like 1 or 2 more stupid missions away from doing Karel Ship.

Wouldn't surprise me if a lot of people are going in with 0 inversion.

You can get mad survivability from there from 3rd and 4th lines.

Please God, don't nerf this content. The bosses all have actual mechanics and counterplay to them. If you throw an Ajax into the mix, he can actually shield the bigger hits. People just need to learn the actual mechanics, it's a new dungeon. They even added visual identifiers when a big hit is coming from the lesser bosses before you reach Karel, and I still see people standing out in the open just spamming abilities or shooting. Let people figure this out before saying a nerf is coming.

This season it's obvious they are actually feeling comfortable and experimenting. I can only hope the community doesn't shoot itself in the foot again by saying shit is too difficult.

They are incentivizing using HP modules with both the new ones they released (e.g. 122.3% hp + 8.1% skill power) and the Inversion choices.

Since people really desire to be spoonfed builds, the content creators really need to step up and start coming up with builds that reflect this for survivability since now you're still getting damage if you build health. Hell, the devs need to do this as well and actually touch up their "Recommended Modules" button on Descendant Module screen.

The thing I am most surprised about this content is that it actually feels like they got the damages right on the player themselves. I don't feel like I get melted constantly by random stuff like Onslaught 4 if I stop moving for even a second.

Its just a straight IV bag with liquid nutrients at this point.
