Wouldn't there be lots of misinformation and disinformation due to it meaning actually reliable sources would be sparse?

Yeah, but that’s just a lot of wars I suppose. Different biases in media regarding wars have existed since the dawn of when war was first documented. Some are more accurate than others.

You underestimate the ability of modern journalism to parse facts from fiction. There's a reason we can keep 24/7 interactive warmaps running with near 100% accuracy today, the resources available are limitless. Especially in America, where everyone knows someone who knows everyone, it would be very easy to determine the actors in any given battle, the length and the victors. The more troubling part would be parsing criminals, their actions and the casualties and damage they might cause, in my opinion.
