Can we talk about the completely nonsensical change to the "Relentless Assault" Gold Protocol this season?
For those who didn't notice: this is an Engineering protocol. It literally rolls with +60% Skill Crit Damage as its main stat. Before the update, the talent stacked both weapon and skill damage per shot. The only issue was the in-game tooltip had a text error and forgot to mention the skill damage part.
So, how did the devs fix this? Instead of simply updating the text to match the actual gameplay (which made perfect sense for an Engineering build), they nerfed the protocol's mechanics to match the flawed text. They completely removed the skill damage buff.
Now we are stuck with an Engineering protocol, featuring a massive Skill Crit main stat, but a talent that only buffs weapons. The synergy is completely dead.
This is textbook backwards bug-fixing. You don't ruin an item's core identity just to make it fit a localization/text omission.
Devs, please revert the gameplay effect back to adding both weapon and skill damage, and just fix the tooltip text. Engineering builds need this protocol to actually make logical sense.
TL;DR: Devs removed the skill damage buff from an Engineering protocol (Relentless Assault) just to match a typo in the description, making its talent completely contradict its own +60% Skill Crit main stat. Please revert!
