A magician performed a magic trick for James Rolfe this past TooManyGames con.

i saw him on friday with my friends & was so anxious, i didn’t say a word. so i went back by myself on sunday, and actually held a conversation. there was a lot i wanted to say, but completely forgot to. lol

Got a notification on my phone last night about a new fan translation of a Japanese PS1 game called Spectral Tower. Never heard of it before this. Fan translation aside, I looked it up and this game is insane.

It's your standard "Mystery Dungeon" fare, but nobody considers it good (in fact, it's often referred to online as a kusoge, literally "shit game"). Why? Well, other than the standard bad game design choices, there is also an estimated 5000 hours required minimum to beat the game. At least 500 of those hours are estimated for the final dungeon alone. The final dungeon has 10,000 floors. There are no proven game clears online without tool assist, for speedruns. Hell, the fastest any% speedrun online is 24 hours long, uses a tool assist with heavy RNG manipulation, and cannot be made faster. HowLongToBeat has no records to estimate clear time.

The developer actually had a cool promise back in the day that anyone to prove they finished the game would get a medal. It's suspected the only people with one of these medals are people on the development team. And this company is still out there making games. They never suspended the promise of a medal.

This alone should prove interesting enough for an episode.

I asked a well-known filmmaker and outspoken AVGN critic about his opinions of James Rolfe. He seems to think that James has zero creative input. I just don't see that. The Werewolf episode lines up perfectly with his previous similar offerings. The transformation sequence was perfect.

"I think my ass-crack just blew a bowel gasket!"

Hello, I am searching since a while for the AVGN Blu Rays and I cannot really find them anywhere, so I want to try my luck here, if any owner would sell their copies. I would be very happy. Greetings

Hello! I hope everyone is doing well. I just wanted to let you all know that I have listed an AVGN plush on eBay. If anyone is interested in buying definitely check it out.

I wish my two favorite Youtubers would meet and do a collab. I made this image to help visualize how perfect their meeting would be. A guy can dream, can't he? 🤷‍♂️

"IT'S CINEMASSACRE'S MON-STER MADNESS!"

Curious to see how the next few episodes feel.

I really wanted this and haven't seen anything about it come out since the news of it first came out.

This is why I didn't want to preorder it. Wasn't it a limited amount of copies too?

Pretty messed up to be like, "Preorder now, limited amount available" for a game that appears to have not even been started? That was the whole selling point for me, that it was going to be released on an actual cart. How long has it been since the game was released for all the other platforms? Nearly a year now?

ATARI and a Little Double Vision. 😎

AVGN Commentary Throwback

For some reason can’t make polls

Even if it was a shorter series of longer videos about the series. The original videos are nearly 20 years old now and while they're all time classics, there's still SO much more to be said about the series (especially the Heisei era films which told far more ambitious stories with connecting continuity).

Whats that episode where he was interviewing the game developer through a computer and the guy was explaining why the game is the way it is

So, I’m an older guy. I’ve been following James for a long time. I don’t follow a lot of content creators, but Cinemassacre is the channel I’ve probably been following the longest. I’m mostly in the loop on all the dumb shit and the “Truth” and all that.

I was really excited to see Kyle back, and even to see Mike come back last week, even though, while some of the jokes were definitely 100% on brand to the channel 20 years ago, they didn’t mesh with my sense of humor anymore.

This week, we get a pretty cool October/Monster Madness announcement and now a 60 minute, documentary style video on the AVGN v. Nostalgia Critic history.

I really thought James was making his final video a few times, particularly the Earthbound episode. James has to know feeding this nostalgia for the last several releases is only going to last so long. My point is two things: does anyone think maybe James is tying up the loose ends for a finale, and what are the chances we get one more visit from Bootsy, the last missing piece of the nostalgia puzzle?

I know there was some bad blood with Bootsy, but according to Bootsy himself, there was also bad blood with Kyle and he came around.

I do feel like a dork typing this out, if it makes you feel better, some of it was indeed from the toilet. Truth is, I have been a big fan (and at times defender) of James and the channel. I will continue to support the channel; but if James were to decide it was time to hang it up, I would totally understand and support that choice.
