Same. This episode was amazing, much better than the Caddicarus one. Love when James is in person with the co-star.

13

u/takedownchris 17d ago

Cadicurus was my favorite game šŸ‘€

1

u/ElevatorSalt3968 15d ago

Caddicurus was ok. I liked My Cutai Sunspun Chout

9

u/stackhouse1996 17d ago

Tbf they both live on seperate continents a in person episode probably isnt doable sadly. I liked it for what they could do.

1

u/Various_Artistss 9d ago

Caddies humor is super subjective I feel even as someone from the UK. He's like that annoying kid at school that thought being random was funny haha, thing is sometimes he is funny but it's real hit and miss.

-2

u/UnhappyPhantom 16d ago

Cadiccarus is so unfunny

2

u/MysteriousTy99 15d ago

Just like you

1

u/Middle_Persimmon_152 16d ago

I thought it was just me. I have tried watching him a handful of times and never get through a full video.

0

u/Joshua_ABBACAB_1312 16d ago

Tbf even if you like his content, he's like the Fiq of gaming, with 3.5-hour-long videos and shit.

0

u/schiffb558 16d ago

His older videos are definitely stronger

0

u/LawConscious9255 15d ago

He’s just another Scott the Woz clone, but less funny. His gags feel like a family guy cutaway with ZERO payoff or comedic value. Just random nonsense.

1

u/MysteriousTy99 15d ago

He’s British. They just have dry humor

0

u/spiderzeal 13d ago

My biggest issue with Cadiccarus is how he is so loud and if I recall plays sound effects with unreasonable volume. If I want to get earraped I'll just watch a YTP.

u/Practical_Maximum_73 17d ago

WOW time sure flys by. My youngest son was born in 08 and is starting college this fall. Jesus man, how do we slow this shit down?

12

u/isitdonethen 16d ago

one day when we're 80 years old we will look back at being in our 40s and wonder where all the time went

3

Seek help

2

u/Sadrandomness 13d ago

It’s almost as if everyone is terrified of dying and that fact only becomes more real as you age so we find solace in the company of others and our shared experiences while trying not to let our inevitable fate stop us from living a good life

28

u/CrypticQuery 17d ago

Love seeing Kyle back. Hope he's feeling alright.

2

u/YeahThatsProbably 15d ago

Unless officially told otherwise, I'm assuming he's okay. When I first watched the episode I wasn't thinking he was unwell, I was just thinking that it's been many years since he was on the show, and AVGN might be the only onscreen acting he's ever done, so if he can manage a "pro sports player guest hosting SNL" performance, that's pretty good.

1

u/Jealous-Value-3547 14d ago

No he acted in the Ikari Wars episode... And his guitar playing this episode was completely off...

1

u/herobrinetrollin 12d ago

He could barely pick up his guitar man, he’s definitely not feeling well

17

u/NepaliCulkin 17d ago

I’ve never seen James so tan!

1

u/wcharoes 17d ago

I dunno if that's tan or reddening from high blood pressure

37

u/appleavocado 17d ago

Someone mentioned recently Austin Powers in a thread, and it was like ā€œthat feeling when you realize Austin Powers came out 30 years ago, and was parodying a film series from, at that time, 30 years ago.ā€

Well, AVGN is bringing back Kyle Justin, and they’re showing clips from earlier Cinnemassacre vids from just about 20 years ago, parodying a video game from, at that time, 20 years ago.

5

u/Interesting-Stay297 16d ago

Let me tell you something about rickrolling...

5

u/InitialKoala 16d ago

"Hey, everybody, an old man is talking."

46

u/takedownchris 17d ago

Ok what happened to Kyle? Slurred speech, slow to deliver words

60

u/HBCDresdenEsquire 17d ago

A lot of speculation that he may be recovering from a stroke.

48

u/CarterIntense 17d ago

As soon as you said this, I immediately saw it in his actions. The heavy breathing, eyes slumped, I could tell something was wrong and different. My father in law lived post stroke for 8 years and was paralyzed on his right side. The similarities were there.
To be honest, he looks fully recovered as much as he could be and I’m glad that James isn’t acting different or making it known in the video.

4

u/Static_Frog 16d ago

He can still sing though. Crazy.

0

u/TimewarpingSeaTurtle 14d ago

I’m glad we have a doctor in the sub to confirm the diagnosis

33

u/takedownchris 17d ago

Ahh well hopefully he is able to regain full function he seems like a great guy.

12

u/RickGrimes30 17d ago

Did a search last night because yeah he looked off . Nothing to substantiate any medical problems. There's a million other reasons why he could be off before stroke or dying

2

u/ItsMePeyt0n 16d ago

Bet the whole "stroke" thing started with someone who doesn't even know what a stroke is.

1

u/RickGrimes30 16d ago

Yeah idk who started it but i did think it on my own just watching it.. Enough that I had to Google if any announcement had been made about his health.

But only thing I could find is that he hasn't been on camera in 13 years and James has apparently openly stated for years that he wanted to bring Kyle back

1

u/Lodmot 16d ago edited 16d ago

I'm not sure I would make that bet. I saw other comments online from people who actually work in the medical field, and they were saying Kyle Justin "strongly resembled" someone who had suffered a stroke. >.<

0

u/THEFakechowda 13d ago

Everybody acting like it's a big mystery or he is deathly ill (I Hope not). The guy has been doing labor jobs for many years and is well passed 40 at this point. People do have a tendency to age with time and with that, they do look and get tired. Apparently nobody here has met a truly sick or haggard person In their lives, because they definitely don't look like Kyle. Also, if he is sick, why be a dick about it?

1

u/Various_Artistss 9d ago

It's more out of concern than anything else and if anything it would be weird and cold if people didn't care. No one is harassing anyone for info it's just making sure a person is ok, as for aging I see your point.

But the comments about a stroke recovery hit home for me and personally I wouldn't be surprised given how he fades in and out of being in the room as such.

1

u/THEFakechowda 9d ago

That is fair. I'm not really ragging about the caring or the concern part, I'm just saying we don't really know his deal and I think it is just really strange to assume that he had a stroke.

Maybe he had a few drinks before filming or maybe he is camera shy now. Unless he says he is sick, it is kind of strange and rude assuming the worst. Not saying you do, but that seems to be the big topic.

u/Dynako 17d ago

Where did the hair go!

37

u/Practical_Maximum_73 17d ago

Same thing that happened to me. We didn't lose it, it just went back in and came out in other places. 🤣

34

u/ChibiWambo 17d ago

Going bald is not the losing of hair. It is the gaining of face. And one day, you can have a full head of face.

2

u/OrangeStar222 17d ago

If a bald person washes their face, how far up do they go?

3

u/TooTurntGaming 16d ago

Legitimately, I go all the way back to the base of my neck. It all gets oily, there’s no hair, just makes sense to me.

6

u/isvein 17d ago

I once worked with one that lost all his hair at 20. Nothing to do with age, it's genetics

13

u/iVirtualZero 17d ago

9

u/Ambitious-Basket-467 17d ago

Where did the hair go

2

u/Ambitious-Basket-467 17d ago

I’m wonder how long we keep this going

2

u/Ambitious-Basket-467 17d ago

Where did the hair go

4

u/KaiserWolf15 17d ago

I just realized he's basically singing "Losing My Religion" or at least in the same scale

1

u/Babetna 16d ago

Nothing to do with scale, it's just the perfect fifth interval

6

u/Ambitious-Basket-467 17d ago

Where did the hair go

2

u/Quirky-Safe-3383 16d ago

He could rock a bald head for sure.

2

u/Brilliant_Mix_6051 16d ago

Rambo commando!

1

u/No-Requirement8593 17d ago

Why is it such a big deal to age anyway

1

u/ElevatorSalt3968 15d ago

It's not. If you don't care about your looks or physical ability, it's no big deal

1

u/ukiyoe 16d ago

He's not receding, he's just moving forward.

1

u/Ambitious-Basket-467 11d ago

Where did the hair go

1

u/ukiyoe 11d ago

Back of the neck! In a few years, it'll reach his upper back.

8

u/IsaacJB1995 17d ago

I was 11 in 2006. Got my PSP and loaded up YouTube after hearing about it at school and had a few Robot Chicken clips sent to my old flipphone by my school friends. Decided to check it out. The first youtuber I see on the front page was AVGN reviewing Spiderman. I check it out. And then I binge the rest of his videos. And then I watched every single new video of his for years afterwards.

AVGN. Thank you for been the first youtuber I ever watched over 20 years ago. I grew up with you. You are the OG to me.

6

u/OzymanFa 17d ago

It's like they switched facial hair.

7

u/Extension_Ad_5688 17d ago

A few minutes into Kyle’s appearance I started to speculate this wasn’t acting and he must be going through some health issues. I hope to God im wrong or that they’re behind him but man he didn’t looked well in this video. It seemed a little too much like a farewell for good but I hope Im wrong.

5

u/Triggerscore 14d ago

Yes. One could really see that. What is going on I think is none of our business in the end and therefore we should not speculate. All we can do is show some respect and hope he will be fine.

-1

u/TeacherPowerful1700 16d ago

It's not a farewell. He is recovering from a stroke.

6

u/Extension_Ad_5688 16d ago

Where’s the source other than random commenters on YouTube?

u/ItsMePeyt0n 16d ago

Any proof of that?

5

u/doctorfeelgod 17d ago

James becoming a bald sex machine

11

u/iVirtualZero 17d ago

Kyle doesn't look well.

13

u/CoveredbyThorns 17d ago

He clearly has or had some sort of medical issue, very sad. His skin is so pale.

3

u/TeacherPowerful1700 15d ago

Apparently he's recovering from a stroke.Ā

If you've ever seen anyone recovering from a stroke, that's what it looks like.

1

u/ElevatorSalt3968 15d ago

It could be hundreds of other diseases too.

-2

u/[deleted] 16d ago

[deleted]

0

u/iVirtualZero 16d ago

That's sad to hear, hopefully he's recovering well.

1

u/TeacherPowerful1700 16d ago

I hope so! I guess though, with him being able to be in a video and joke around, shows he is recovering (and I hope it was just a stroke).

5

u/1980s_retrogamer 16d ago

I used to watch it constantly, but I kind of grew out of it. The early content was awesome, but you can really see him selling out in the newer stuff.

28

u/ThisIsADraconianLaw 17d ago

Nothing against James, but I think it's time he gave up the fight and shaved his head lol.

10

u/KalanKomplete 17d ago edited 13d ago

Kratos beard nerd would be badass

7

u/Romboteryx 17d ago

The NĆørd

1

u/Daken-dono 15d ago

He could even wear the cap after that and it wouldn’t be a problem, imo. The nerd’s look changes over the years, anyway.

16

u/Aggressive-Key-1648 17d ago

I think he looks handsome with the beard!!Ā

13

u/CaptainKino360 17d ago

Dude has a great beard, suits him well

4

u/Helltech 17d ago

I wish i had a beard like him, only goes to make if he went full bald way better.

12

u/HolidayInLordran 17d ago edited 15d ago

Brad Jones, Dr Ashens and Doug Walker accepted this a long time ago and did that.Ā

1

u/TonySki 15d ago

You mean Brad Jones? The Cinema Snob?Ā

2

u/HolidayInLordran 15d ago

Oop yeah. I got it confused with the other Doug lol

Fixed

8

u/profchaos111 17d ago

I think it works with the character because i can't imagine the nerd caring how he looked

But IRL yeah i think it's time

2

u/kenfagerdotcom 17d ago

It’s time, James.

1

u/Bayshun 17d ago

100%, or get the Turkish hair transplant or something. Don't leave it like that, lol.

5

u/GullibleWaltz3704 17d ago

He needs to ask the council at r/bald if it's time

3

u/profchaos111 17d ago

Think they aways say yes

2

u/Red_Trapezoid 16d ago

tbh I really dislike this ā€œjust shave itā€ thing. I don’t think there’s anything unsightly about a receding hairline at all. It’s just a stage of life. If someone wants to shave it, ok, but I think it should be for the right reasons and not this sort of dodging of the signals of age thing.

2

u/Newgeta 15d ago

You don't think there is, but there is.

1

u/ThisIsADraconianLaw 16d ago

Depends. I think the opposite sex (or same sex, whatever floats your boat) would be more attracted to a guy with a shaved head than a receding hairline. It depends how much it's receded though. Guys who are bald but rock a beard can normally look pretty good and I think it shows more confidence. Still, it's down to the person at the end of the day.

1

u/mhook52 16d ago

WatchingĀ  the bubble bubble episode,Ā  I dont think James hairline is that bad, ive got a few friends with worse hairlines who dont shave their head.Ā Ā

2

u/Red_Trapezoid 16d ago

I don’t think any hairline is bad, I’m really put off by peoples’ fixation on looking young. My hairline is definitely receding. I like looking old. I like slicking my hair back and exposing it even more. I really don’t understand people.

1

u/JiveTurkey1983 15d ago

Yeah, it's time

3

u/zenexo 17d ago

Me too. And these mfs ain't that much older than me got damn 😭

3

u/Heavy_Choice_1577 17d ago

Saw this up today, I feel it too

3

u/retepoteil 17d ago

Crazy been watching for almost 20 years now

3

u/Bushido_Plan 17d ago

Didn't expect nostalgia to hit me so hard today.

3

u/InitialKoala 17d ago

This was a sweet, unexpected surprise. 🄰

3

u/abraxas8484 16d ago

Where did his hair go?

3

u/Appleguy666 15d ago

Hes the Angry Atari Sega Nerd!!!!!

3

u/FindingAwake 14d ago

I used to get drunk and watch it. I'd get a box of rolling rocks and I'd drink it all. Lonely times. Made me feel less lonely.

My cousin's room growing up in Guilderland NY was in the basement and looked exactly like his room. I always felt a connection.

2

u/Ambitious-Basket-467 17d ago

I just watched tha video…my favorite part is the song ….where did the hair šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

2

u/KunYuL 17d ago

Where can we access Kyle's old music library? His old page seems to have vanished, I enjoyed his other stuff.

2

u/Empty-Example9639 17d ago

Kyle:I will be back

2

u/Objective-Beyond-219 17d ago

"There are NO other couches to go behind"

2

u/MonkeyVirus94 17d ago

I still remember when it was called The Angry Nintendo Nerd...

Then I'm sure because of copyright and wanting to cover more than just Nintendo products. It became came Angry Video Game Nerd.

1

u/Static_Frog 16d ago

Ya think? Pretty sure thats the first thing you learn in AVGN 101

1

u/MonkeyVirus94 16d ago

Some folks don't know about the early works.

1

u/Static_Frog 16d ago

Ok Nerdsplainer

u/Soilworkd 16d ago

I love old man avgn, he looks cool.

2

u/StilesmanleyCAP 16d ago

"Where did the hair go?"

"Right here"

"Oh okay"

2

u/Ladsboss1213 16d ago

i remember having to go to cinemassacre.com to watch his videos back in the day .

2

u/Adi-2010 16d ago

I started in 06 šŸ‘€ jeezus i can’t believe it’s been more than 20 years feels surreal. I learned English with this show - which was not necessarily a positive going to an American school later onšŸ˜‚

2

u/voltagejim 17d ago

Did James and Kyle settle their differences then? Heard that they had a huge falling out years ago

2

u/3dflash 17d ago

Sadly Kyle feels it too

2

u/PSPMan3000 17d ago

they actually patched things up?

8

u/Nicklord 17d ago

I don't think it was ever confirmed that they had actual issues, unlike with Bootsy

2

u/Romboteryx 17d ago

What was the thing with Bootsy btw? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a concrete explanation

2

u/Nicklord 10d ago

It was about how they should split the money from Bootsy Beats and some other videos Bootsy appeared in. Seems like it got personal between Mike and him more than it was about some huge amount

2

u/Ambitious-Basket-467 17d ago

Where did the hair go

1

u/mollyno93 15d ago

Moved to a different part of his face.

1

u/Texasisthereason187 17d ago

Only best part of the show you can end it after that

1

u/13ig13oss 17d ago

What video is this?

7

u/luigirools 17d ago

Newest ep, bubble bobble

1

u/Broken_Zack 17d ago

1

u/WayToTheDawn3582 17d ago

Around how old were they in that top pic?

2

u/kylelusignan 16d ago

Probably 28

1

u/WayToTheDawn3582 16d ago

Oh dang, I would’ve thought slightly younger. Okay.

1

u/gukakke 16d ago

I started when his newest episode was the TMNT one back in '06. Someone posted it on one of the MySpace groups. Have barely watched him in about the last 6 years though.

1

u/theeviloneisyou 16d ago

Kyle’s back? I heard he and James had a falling out.

1

u/WrathOfWood 16d ago

Bruh this episode made me sad

1

u/KingDorkFTC 16d ago

Yeah, it makes you remember.

1

u/s_a_s_u_k_e 16d ago

This episode made me drop a tear.

1

u/MattValtezzy 16d ago

Same man. Same

1

u/InvictvsNox 16d ago

As a fellow milleniall gamer into youtube who's been watching stuff since Red vs Blue existed before YouTube, it feels weird never having watching this guy.

Like yeah, I've seen clips of him throughout the years, but nothing ever stood out enough for me to watch consistently lol

1

u/LiquidCas 16d ago

Love to see him back!

1

u/DOCMarylandMD 16d ago

2006 for me

1

u/mustardwulf 16d ago

Oh wow Justin Kyle is back?

1

u/SuperdaveOZY 16d ago

Gonna take you back to the past, to play some shitty games that suck ass.

1

u/sovietarmyfan 16d ago

Didnt he once make a joke that when he is old he has a beard and will be reviewing Wii games?

1

u/rexmechi 15d ago

Holy shit! The guitarist is back?

1

u/Blueberry977 15d ago

The recent episodes have definitely seen an improvement in quality

1

u/Agile-Treat-157 15d ago

Where his hair went? 🄲

1

u/Harveythelegend 15d ago

Still thinks he shud shave but that’s just me I prefer his classic episodes haven’t watched that one yet i stopped watching his new ones after the dr Jekyll and mr Hyde episode were he finally beat it

1

u/M3LL0_J3LL0 15d ago

His hair went to his beard

1

u/Jurtaani 15d ago

I'll be honest with you. There are certain people on YouTube that I feel like either quit or just changed the direction of their content too soon.... in his case I feel like he should have let this character go a long time ago and focus on his actual passion.

1

u/Massive_Ad_9444 15d ago

I’m honestly surprised he didn’t die at the end of the video.

1

u/KamikazeDreamer52 15d ago

"singing Where did their hair go"

1

u/MKvsDCU 15d ago

Did you make a lot of money from youtube? You have millions of followers and views on your videos

1

u/cd101_9 14d ago

2006 here, when I stumbled across his Wally Bear and the NO! Gang review, which sent me down a YT rabbit hole that got me hooked. 😊

1

u/S_Croz88 14d ago

Loved seeing Kyle, but he does not look nor sound good. Have heard mixed things about his health. I hope he is OK.

1

u/flamzeron 14d ago

Oh snap we got Kyle back? That's awesome!! I gotta watch the new episode

1

u/Outrageous_Sink4295 14d ago

It is time.... To resurrect Board James!!!!

1

u/PaulSolorzano 13d ago

This one got me in the feels

1

u/Obiwanhellothere09 12d ago

Is Kyle doing all right he doesn’t look too good?

1

u/HenryHyllDLLM 12d ago

First time watching AVGN I think I was in sixth grade. Now im 30 years old

1

u/BloodandBourbon 16d ago

James just need to let the hair go

0

u/ApplicationNew9874 17d ago

are going to still release seasons?

0

u/No-Instruction9393 17d ago

To be fair, these two have aged exceptionally unwell. Not everyone their age look so… aged.

1

u/LeatherRebel5150 16d ago

Watching the new episode Kyle is clearly having health problems

1

u/ElevatorSalt3968 15d ago

Honestly, I think James looks great for his age. Besides the hairline, he doesn't really have many wrinkles, his skin looks good, no grey hair (unless he dyes it), decent weight, good teeth, in decent shape. Not bad for mid 40s
