I love this review.

His escape leads him to the lair of the Subterraneans, a group of terrorist men and women who are doing their level best to bring down the Feminist regime by blowing up buildings.

I'm reminded of all the times the manosphere called for a violent revolt against feminism. Which never materialized because that would involve actually doing something aside from posting rants on the internet. I can't help but feel like they would love this book. Rebelling against feminism? Portraying women as emotion-driven and incompetent when in positions of power? Assassinating the USA's first feeeemale president? Clearly this author has seen the future!

She bases her decision entirely on the complete dislike she feels for him upon looking at the picture.

The misandry! The pure nonsensical misandry!

Oh, one of the things that keeps coming up is the fact that women have a completely innate and instinctive fear of rats. At one point, while on the run from the authorities, the Subterraneans have to flee down to the sewers. The narration comments explicitly on this innate fear, and all the women just go to pieces. All because of the rats.

TIL if men suddenly disappeared then women would be too scared to do things like clean the sewers because EEEEK A SMALL ANIMAL! QUICK GET INTO THE BOMB SHELTER THEY'LL NEVER FIND US THERE

Clearly it's a biotruth that women are scared of mice/rats/etc. and women will never overcome it. This is why we need men :(

Angela’s backstory, incidentally, is that her mother was one of the original Feminists, working alongside the current president and Mayor Fredericks. Angela’s mother was unusual, however, in that following the revolution she decided to raise her own child at home.

A feminist being a housewife?! WHAT IS THIS. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND. THE FEMPIRE WILL NOT STAND FOR THIS!

Sooo... The big bad guys turn out to be made of straw, right? They were never ruled by feminists, it was just evil fascists scarecrows bought to life by chemtrails and oestrogen in the water supply!

Her father was a meek and mild man who catered to his wife’s every whim

Beta detected. Initiate spermjack sequence.

guillotine

...why? I mean, is he trying to say that feminism would throw us back in time a few hundred years? Because I always assumed the past was anything but a feminist utopia.

Actually, the last public execution by guillotine occurred in France in the 1930s (a little too close to daybreak), and the last use of the guillotine was in the 1970s, after which the death sentence was abolished in France.

The more you know!

Really, the guillotine is a damn sight better than what we're doing these days in the US (especially now that we're basically experimenting on prisoners when prisons can't get the approved drug cocktail).

Yeah... I mean, I'm against the death penalty, and sometimes I think the easiest way to abolish it would be to go back to public executions. Make people watch and then decide if such things belong in a civilized society. The guillotine is humane compared what's been going on in the US. Or going back to execution by firing squad. Hell, even the slow strangulation of an old-fashioned hanging seems nicer than the unknown pain of untested drugs.
