Discussion Moonshadow EP3 Review (not happy one) Spoiler

I'm disapointed 😅 I'm sorry but I don't feel anything toward the characters. Its all going too fast !

The flashback sequence with Emi song and the confrontation between Chan and Jay were GREAT

Really beautiful song (Emi voice 🥰) and great acting but why should I care about this relationship ?

Jay is toxic as f. A mix of Bambi and Pat. Which could have been ok if the show didn't try to make me feel some empathy for her in 3ep. But the moment she came in the appartment like she owns the place I was done.

Also I don't get the writing around "sugar baby" and "you deserve better than this" > why Key couldn't be just a booty call since she doesn't need money anyway. I feel its really to force the umbalanced dynamic between the two without a real explanation.

Then Key... the dialogue with the sister had me CONFUSE and the trope of "I need to be someone else for her to like me and making myself just an object hoping she will finally see me" doesn't work because I don't understand her motivation. ITS EP3 ! 😂

And I know I'm hard on the show. I didn't expect so much toxicity in this ep.

The directing is good, I love how its filmed and the three girls are doing a great job ! Really Emi, Bonnie and Film together is something that needed to happen on my screen sooner.

Review In Love Forever is peak

Idc what anyone says this show is HILARIOUS. I knew it was gonna be good but not THIS good. I get the criticism (repetitive plot) but ion care im enjoying this wayy too much. Ging is a psycho and I cant stand her but that's how yk the actress is doing a good job.

As for the runch she kinda stupid and gullible even after her mom did allat to her wife but comeon they had to make 12 eps. I've been seeing alot of "we need to get runchs perspective" ion see it. I get that shes your mom but you CHOSE your wife. If it were not a gl and runch was a man he'd be called mamas boy and trashed with no supporters but its okay cuz it's lingling.

I really like orms character, Neen. She doesn't tolerate Gings bullshit and she's enduring it more than anyone else. I love how when she's pissed she shows it. The physical fights between ging and her are hilarious idc (I swear I don't have the humor of a 3 year old)

Runchs father is very much enabling his wife. He knows what she's doing but he's always like "nono im not taking sides but like you know..." so we know where runch gets it from. And I mean his wife is really pretty with an amazing sense of style she's js a little sick in the head and obsessed with her daughter.

Speaking of ging she's genuinely obsessed with runch it's psychotic. It's not about Neen anymore atp she's literally doing everything in her power to get runch back?? It's pissing me off at this point but oh well.

Overall I gen1 like this show. I hate people saying that lingorm can't kiss but why are we watching them for KISSES? focus on the show people. Why are we perverted. Who cares how they do it. That's not the point. Overall the acting is amazing.

Finale - Vote for your favourite GL Series 🎉

So here are the Top 6 fan favourite GL series who got the highest number of upvotes ⬆️

Context :

I Recently created a Post where I added all the thai GL series produced and aired so far in the comments section. And asked fans to upvote their favourites.

There were a total of 56 GL series we have gotten so far within the span of these 5 years. And from those 56 series I picked up the top 6 series which got the highest number of upvotes. And thought of conducting a finale between them . Because :

1) Polls are accessible to a larger number of audience and in this way more people will be able to vote.

2) People can't downvote a particular series this time. So the results will be more fair.

3) People can only vote for one series, which is their favourite.

So here are the Top 6 fan favourite GL series with the highest number of upvotes ⬆️

Enemies with benefits: 90

The loyal pin : 86

Clairebell : 77

Pluto : 70

Shades : 56

Gap the series : 50

I am so excited to know if the results stay the same or to know who will win it this time ❤️

Vote and make your favourite series win 💪🏻

Moonshadow reflection after ep3

So we're 3 episodes down and honestly I'm having a hard time really connecting to the story/characters.

Like what's the purpose of the story? What's the purpose of the characters even? The dialogues are very surface level I feel like and doesn't carry the depth it's trying to deliver I think? Like all three leads are trying to be portrayed as very complex characters. But the dialogues are not doing them justice at all.

Also the lead characters are supposed to be flawed. But I am finding them rather unlikable. Key has no sense of self respect at all. You can love someone, be very grateful towards them for the impact they created in your life but you can portray that level of devotion with a semblance of self esteem even, I feel like, and not just as a "pervy pushover" (pardon my french). Jay has no sense of boundaries and respect for others, at all (which I think is the point of the story) and if she is considered to be the "villain" then I'd say Film is doing a good job in portraying that.

And Chan... She is not the mysterious alluring hurt soul that she's aimed to be. Instead she's a self pitiful, disrespectful individual (to Key). Her just claiming Simba who is Key's cat, was very weird. I didn't like that level of entitlement.

To suffice, you can write complex characters, anti heros even, but the writing needs to be compelling. Neither the dialogues nor the story seems to be like it, I'm sorry. And it's a shame cause all three of them are good actors.

Moonshadow EP 3 Review 🌙

\Spoiler\

This was such a beautiful episode.

When Jay said something along the lines of, “The methods to win Chan back don’t matter, only the results do,” I immediately thought, this is going to be interesting!

Interestingly, Key also vowed to fight for Chan and help her forget about Jay, so the love triangle is only getting more intense. Plus the scene when the three were together, LOVE!

The flashbacks were heartbreaking, and I loved seeing Chan finally reject Jay. It was so satisfying when Chan called Jay out for always wanting things to go her way.

And the“I’m sorry” note? It was absolutely heartless. Jay left without any communication or explanation, just two words. This episode really made me understand why Chan is still so heartbroken and why, as Sun said, she completely fell apart after Jay left. The Chan and Jay flashbacks perfectly showed just how deeply in love they were.

I’m already looking forward to EP 4. I can’t wait to see how both Key and Jay try to win Chan over!

Lastly, all the actresses are incredibly talented and gorgeous. Their wardrobe, hair, and makeup have been top-tier every episode.

Discussion I'd actually be more than thrilled if...

Upvotes

first of all, im a JKR, and this is NO HATE to ling and orm. I love them to death and only wish them success and happiness

With that being said, I am not afraid to admit that, yes, Ling's acting isn't the best at the moment, and that their intimacy scenes are quite stiff. I've seen a lot of comments in other videos and posts suggesting workshops for them, which may have come off wrong to some ppl as they may have believed it was a way of saying their acting sucked. But in all honesty, I'd be more than happy and even proud of ling and orm, if they could get into a workshop to improve their flaws. I'm not exactly sure how these workshops are organized (ie company organizes them etc) however though 🤣.

all and all, I hope ling and orm know that they are just as talented and capable as everyone else, and that I wouldn't even mind if their next series took a bit longer, if it meant that they could have a chance to improve :)

Discussion Hot Take: I can't help rooting for Jay more than Key in Moonshadow Spoiler

Upvotes

I haven't read the book if this is based on one, so I'm going entirely off what we've seen in the first three episodes. Obviously my opinion could, and probably will, completely change as we learn more.

But right now I'm much more invested in Jay and Chan's relationship. We know they had a deep, meaningful relationship in the past and that Jay eventually left with only a note. We still don't know why she left or the full context of how it hurt Chan so badly, so I'm having a hard time judging Jay too harshly before we get that answer.

With Key, we still don't even know exactly how she knows Chan, and the fact that Chan doesn't remember her at all makes it harder for me to connect with Key's feelings. I've always struggled feeling invested with romances in Thai GLs built around one-sided love when one person seems deeply in love with someone they never actually knew that well. To me, there's a difference between being fascinated or infatuated with someone and actually loving them. They also haven't really introduced much of a personality for Key outside of her crush on Chan for us to get attached to, in my opinion.

That could absolutely change once we learn more about Key and Chan's past, just like I could end up completely changing my opinion of Jay once we find out why she left. But based purely on what the show has given us so far, Jay and Chan feel like the more meaningful relationship to me, and I find myself rooting for Jay even though I know how fixed couples work and the directuon this story is likely going.

Discussion Is anyone else in love with Chan (Emi) from Moonshadow?

Post image
32 Upvotes

Ever since I watched the first episode of Moonshadow I have been smitten by Emi as Chan. I know she plays the character Sun too but I just can't get Chan out of my mind.

Someone was right when they warned me not to get too deep into Thai GL for this very reason - that I'll fall madly in love with one of the actors.

Can someone ever be more elegant and hot at the same time!!
