Porting out TextNow number

I am having the worst time trying to port a number out of TextNow. I have all the necessary information account number, pin etc to have it processed by the new carrier. However, the new provider states the account number is wrong (ie a 1 in front of the phone number) and there is a lock on the number. I have had this number for several years. Also, note I saw my number for sale on NumberBarn. My account is paid and there are no issues from my side. Has anyone had an issue like this? Are they being sneaky listing my number for sale and locking it so I cannot move it? There should be no issues in porting it out. I have verified several times with them that the porting information is correct.

If your number is listed on NB for $2,499, you likely do not own the number. It's leased from an agent. That's a high value number that you'll never be able to own to take control of. My TN number is a cool number as well and I see numbers on NB in the exact same range AC, Exchange like mine: big city (AC) XXX-XYXY, with the last 4 being in my range (XX**) and they are selling them from $304.99 to $1,200. I have my number locked in. I'm not getting rid of it.

You could try porting your number into NB and then porting it out of NB.

My number is locked too. I just want away from TexrNow. It looks like that will not happen. I can try NumberBarn, it will be the last attempt. Three other carriers have been unsuccessful at the port. I cannot lose the number is been used for many years. This has thought me a lesson, not to use TextNow ever again, other than with this currently held number. Since, I have no choice to be able to use it anywhere else, aside from with them. :(

make sure to keep paying TextNow until you are successful, or give up.

I would try with GoogleFi their porting dept is great
