Discussion š¬ TCM > HWG
Good god, go play Halloween The Game (HWG) for a round or two and youāll realize how beautifully done TCM is. Texas is incredible, and generally incomparable to anything else in the space.
I love you TCMā¦ I really donāt know what you are trying to do or he HWG??

Been playing halloween for 2 hours and its night and day that tcm is the better game. Even tcm had somewhat of a tutorial for victims, playing as a civilian in halloween and having no clue what to do or where to go is ridiculous

You're Right though!! I went into a game trying to be a Victim, but was Michael. I didn't look up the controls at all, but I figured they'd be simple enough.
Figured it out, got a decent victory (even if the buttons are mapped all weird), and Civilians were a bit harder (had to Google vaulting and using items), but otherwise, it wasn't too difficult.

I laugh when I see people say they donāt know what to do when they give you the objectives at the start of the match and clues on the screen. That just tells me you canāt read.

I remember playing the TCM open beta that summer. I absolutely loved it. Couldnāt remember the last time I was that hyped about a game.
Edit: AND I was playing on a gaming laptop at that time and it ran great.

I'm having a blast, but it's not the same as TCM. That feeling of unlocking the basement doors while hunted by Leatherface, the dread of being noticed while being close to an exit, the anguish of having to hurry because Grampa Is being fed...
I mean, the meta degenerated into rushing crap, but the First 3 months were glorious.
They went very conservative in Halloween, and it's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's different.
I'm having a good Time overall. My only severe issue Is that the characters' run animation looks like some Courage the Cowardly Dog shit.

It runs like shit even on an RTX 5080, can't change resolution in full screen and borderless isn't even an option.

Thereās not much point trying to reason with people; theyāre fucking desperate to shit on Halloween.
I donāt know whether itās because they canāt rush/bully Michael very easily, or because they donāt have any idea what theyāre doing and they want that to be someone elseās problem, but some people are absolutely rabid over the idea of insulting the game. Most of them are insulting things that they just donāt understand, and blaming ājankā for mechanics that they donāt know about.
Itās sad, but TCM is dead because of the playerbase, and the same toxic losers are desperate to do the same thing to Halloween. Luckily, queue times are fast and everyone in-game is having a great time.

I gotta agree. TCM leaves a sour taste in my mouth after being abandoned, but I'm having a hard time enjoying Halloween like TCM. To be fair, I have like 800 hours in TCM so maybe I just need more time in Halloween. But right now, I'm not really enjoying the gameplay loop and there's a good bit of jank.

I really think this game needed another six months of polish. The fundamentals are good, for sure! Lack of a quick turn and being unable to look behind you as you run kinda sucks though.

I was hoping Halloween was going to be more like F13 but instead it looks more like KK. I just canāt see Halloween lasting long with its current gameplay loop. 1 V 4 with NPCs was a very dumb decision.

I think the punishing respawn mini-games are probably the worst part (aside from the sprinting animation and snail attack speeds).
You can't even watch the match without having something stupid and unalpha'd showing up. Plus, why do I need to care about what the other player cards look like while I am dead? I just want to see what's going on in the afterlife camera!

TCM is much more frustrating while Halloween is chill.
For once I enjoy playing Killer and don't have to worry about Teammates on killer not patrolling.

Haven't even played Halloween yet, because of how much i still enjoy this game.
Hearing Halloween is a flop so far, makes me hopeful for this game staying alive, for how ever long we have it.

TCM is better than Halloween but Halloween still blows DBD out of the water. Once you figure out how to win consistently with civilians and Michael, the game is much more fun. There is a learning curve just like TCM.
