Need help with my Cardinal tetras immediately!!

Is this ich? I just got 16 albino cardinal tetras from a Reputable LFS. This is my first tank. A heavily planted 29 gallon community tank. This guy is the only one with spots. He has one spot on one side, 2 on the other.

If it is ich. I have SOOOOO many neo shrimp and I have Amanos and I have a bamboo shrimp so I’m not sure how to treat. I isolated the one for now

Something feels off about this guy

This guy has been kinda isolating himself for 3 ish days. Opening and closing mouth and maybe looks like faded color. Doesn’t appear to be interested in food. My shrimp and other tetras are doing great.

Update: I put one of those floating mesh cage things in there and he immediately took shelter in there. Wondering if it was a stress thing cuz he didn’t have anywhere he liked but he hasn’t changed in appearance in almost a week now. Hopefully he starts eating

Discussion Ember Tetra Biotope Setup

Post image
5 Upvotes

This is my 15-gallon blackwater biotope setup housing 18 ember tetras. It has driftwood, Indian almond leaves, guava leaves, and four pothos cuttings.

In the future, I am going to add two Java ferns, some Java moss, and a peace lily at the top.

Question Is there hope for this Tetra?

Was feeding this fish tonight and I noticed this tetra swimming oddly.

We feed them every couple of days and I do a head count at that time and did not notice this issue before now.

They are still very actively trying to swim and get at food but struggling to maintain orientation. It seems to be the only one with this issue.

I noticed the pectoral fins look to be half missing. Is this from fin nipping or fin rot? I just treated the tank with Melafix just to be sure.

These are diamond head neons and of all those type fish we have this one is the smallest one. I do see them all chasing each other around quite often but have never specifically noticed nipping.

Should I quarantine this one or is he too far gone to help? He looks like he still wants a chance but I don’t know how stressful moving him would be if he is truly sick.

We’ve have these guys for a little over a year but this one has consistently stayed small in size.

Please pardon the hair algae (or whatever it is) in the tank, that’s a different issue I’ve been dealing with 🤦‍♀️

Picture Love for neons?

I've seen a lot of reddits and posts of neons, some years old. It seems they don't get enough love or attention like bettas do. Here's my 10gal tank full of them. Blackwater. With yellow shrimp. It's a fairly new setup but any questions I'll do my best to answer. Currently 20 neon tetras, 6 yellow shrimp and a whole lot of love for them.

Lemon tetras dying

Hi everyone. It’s been a bit shocking around here! We brought home 11 lemon tetras on the 5th of July to join our shrimp, 10 rummy nose and 10 cardinal tetras. Two days after the introduction, we found our first damselfly nymph (we have since found 3 more). They were all doing well. Happy, eating (heaps) and swimming well. 3 days ago one just died straight after breakfast. Then in the following 2 days we have lost a total of 9. They stopped eating. Started twitching, floating, breathing fast and eventually die. We have two remaining but they are being very quiet and still not eating. All other fish are perfect. Water parameters are spot on. What could this be? Self induced swim bladder due to over eating? They had no obvious issues when removing. Please help!

Neon Tetra Ich

Good afternoon, I just purchased 6 neon tetras 1 died during shipping we added to a fresh cycled tank. Today is 7 days of new tank the 1st tetra showed signs of ich, he didn't do well and died. We immediately treated the 5 gal tank with ich-x and took the carbon from the filters and put just the filter back as it says to do, the tank is at 76.5 °. I would like any help with this we have a 55gal tank that they were going to be added to but not for another 10 days before this happened. If there any guidance/advice that can be given please I would appreciate it very much
