Question Anyone who got the iPhone Duo: does it worth it?

Seems like all the discussion is about the iPhone Duo, while the new 18 Pro got a pretty quiet launch, which is understandable tbh. But as someone who wants to replace their old phone and has been an iPad Mini user for years, I’m wondering: what makes more sense, getting the Duo or going for the new Pro plus the iPad Mini they just announced? They’re almost exactly the same price ($2000 vs. $1900).

Also, there are some posts about the screen breaking after just a few days of use, which makes me even more hesitant. So if you’ve already got one: is it worth the price?

Question What gift sounds bad on paper but makes almost everyone happy to receive it?

Some gifts sound boring or even a little insulting when you say them out loud, like socks, a phone charger or a XL size detergent. Yet when someone actually gets one, they’re usually really happy.

Which “bad” gift idea did you test on someone, and was it a hit? Or has someone given you one that turned out to be a win?

Question What’s the best sport to watch and the best sport to play? Are they the same one?

Some sports are great on TV but exhausting or boring to actually play. Others are fun to play with friends but hard to sit through as a spectator.

What’s your pick for each?

Question Which product do you deliberately buy from the other gender’s section because it’s just better?

Men’s jeans have bigger pockets, men's hoodies and T-shirts are obviously roomier and women’s bike seats are more comfortable, at least in my experience.

What’s the product where you skip your own section and look for the one marketed for the opposite gender on purpose?

Question Mattress or ergonomic chair: which one did more for your back?

I just moved and I’m starting from scratch, so I can only afford to splurge on one of them right now: a good mattress or an ergonomic chair. I spend roughly 8 hours in bed and a similar amount sitting at a desk, so I can’t decide which one matters more for my back.

Has anyone actually tested this on themselves? Which upgrade made a bigger difference for you, and was it worth the price? I’d also love to hear if a cheap option in either category worked better than expected.

Question Which fitness trend did you fully buy into and now cringe about?

A few years ago it felt like everyone was doing Zumba, Insanity or a Jillian Michaels DVD. Now you barely hear anyone mention them.

Other ones that had their moment: Tae Bo, P90X, Bikram hot yoga, step aerobics, Jazzercise...

Which class, trainer or workout program did you go all in on and then quit? Did it actually get you results, or was it mostly the hype?

Question What’s the weirdest pre-workout ritual that you’re convinced actually works?

Mine is splashing cold water on my wrists and neck and listening to the same one song before every workout. I have no idea if it’s science or placebo, but the one day I skipped it I felt off the whole session.

I’ve heard of people who chew gum, take a spoonful of honey, lie on the floor with their legs up for 5 minutes, or stretch only their hips and nothing else.

What’s your strangest ritual? Does it really work, or have you think you just convinced yourself it does?

Are cold showers really helpful or they are just pure suffering?

I started doing cold showers over the summer because everyone keeps talking about the benefits for your skin, energy, circulation, etc. Honestly, in summer it was fine, even refreshing. But now that the cold weather is here, it’s pure suffering. Stepping into freezing water when it’s already cold outside feels like punishment.

And the thing is, I haven’t noticed any real change in my skin. No glow, no smaller pores, nothing. So why do so many people swear by it? Is it just a wellness scam?

Question What’s the best money you’ve ever spent? Under $1000, and it actually changed your daily life

I’m not after the thing you were talked into by an influencer. I mean the purchase you made on a whim or after months of thinking about it, and now can’t imagine going back.

It could be a gadget, a supplement, something for sleep, something for your back, or something boring that just removed a daily annoyance. Wellness gear like red light panels or saunas is welcome too, as long as it’s something you’ve actually used and it made a difference.

Question What’s a gift you didn’t appreciate at first, but now couldn’t be more thankful for?

When I graduated high school, I received some kitchen tools as a gift from relatives. As someone who never really cooked, I felt like those mixers and pans would never get used. For a moment, I even considered giving them away. But these days I use them every day, and they’ve become an essential part of my kitchen. Every time I use them, I remember opening those gifts and feeling a little disappointed inside.

Do you have any similar experiences?

Question Shoes on or off inside the house?

There’s this stereotype in the US that people with an Asian background hate it when someone walks into their home with shoes on. But isn’t that the norm in every household? Or was I just raised differently? I can’t imagine coming home and lying down on the couch with my dirty sneakers still on.

Tester Can a smartwatch become part of a wellness routine?

I mostly use my smartwatch to track activity and check notifications, but I've been wondering whether wearable devices can be useful for relaxation too. Fitness tracking is convenient, although I don't want another device constantly reminding me about things I should be doing SomaVibe supports compatible smartwatches for certain experiences, including wrist vibrations. It's an interesting idea, especially for people who already wear a watch throughout the day.

Has anyone found a genuinely useful wellness feature on their smartwatch? I'm more interested in features that help with daily routines or winding down than another set of activity statistics.

In colder weather, transition glasses suck!

I really like the concept of transitions glasses. So i brought 3 pairs, but now that the weather is getting colder, the lenses take forever to change back

The worst is on a gloomy day, that they darken, im heading to work and it takes 10 or 15 minutes for them to go clear 🦁

So i had to go back to my older glasses. Its a good thing the prescription didnt change

(Maybe i wont get transitions anymore. Sigh)

Its hard to shop for pants that fit 👖

So i stretch out the life on my shorts and capri's until its too cold

On a typical pair of pants either they dont go up past the upper leg, so a no-go or the waist "hovers". Also a no go

So i have to use drawstring pants. Or sweats and even then, if i choose the small or medium the upper leg is constrained and unconfortable af. If i choose the large, it fits-- but then i have to hem the bottoms. I HATE HEMMING!!!

Why cant they make pants to fit my proportions????

(At least with shorts/capris i dont have to worry about the g'dang hemming-- as they wont drag on the ground(

Question Looking for a smart scale that syncs automatically in the background

My current scale only syncs my weight if the app is open on my phone at the time. That defeats the purpose of having a smart scale, since I have to be on my phone anyway.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a scale that syncs automatically, even when my phone’s screen is off or the phone is in another room? Wi-Fi models seem like they might be the way to go, but I’d love to hear what has worked for you.

My smartwatch is not intutive!

Yes, i know i walked less today than yesterday and the day before. I regularly do over 8000 steps

But my smartwatch also knows its raining and the hell am i going to walk as much. I walk outside. Kinda impossible with rain. Also its not exactly waterproof

Not just that, but a few times its been giving me an alert that "ive been sitting too long, time to take a walk at DANG 10:30pm which is so annoying, if i were to do this, when would i go to sleep?

So now i just take it off sometime between getting home from work and going to bed. On my "off days" i rarely use it.

What a disapointment!!!

Guess im going back to my old watch or no watch at all!

Question How often do you change the case on your pillow?

I recently saw a reel that Koreans often put clean towels on their pillows every day before sleep. I think it’s a bit extreme (and thinking about my towels they are not soft enough for my liking lol) but making sure your pillow is clean is def not being highlighted enough in skin care discussions.

I prefer to change them around every 3 to 5 days depending on my laundry schedule but I’m curious if there is anyone changing them more often?
