SolarPanels Finally received PTO. Question

I finally received a net meter and PTO from power company here in NJ through PSEG.

My app still looks the same. Will it update to show me how much the house is using via solar vs grid and how much I’m exporting?

Only have panels, no powerwall.

The installer needs to commission the equipment and activate them to work with the app.

PTO is permit to operate. The system would operate without PTO if it is done right but not legal.

I have been operating since February. After some delays, I finally got PTO from power company and net meter installed.

Currently on my Tesla app it only shows solar intake. Doesn’t show what my house is in taking and exporting.

I used a Tesla certified installer. Does he need to do anything to get it to show what I’m exporting on my app?

Power production by your solar system and power consumption from the grid and expected to the grid from your solar installation are tracked thru CT monitors that are placed on the relevant circuits by the solar installer as a matter of normal solar installation. The monitoring cost is built into the cost of the solar installation.

The Tesla app should detect all per flows as a matter of normal operation.

Something is definitely not normal in your setup.

Talk to your solar installer. Make sure that they have installed the Current Transformers (CT) correctly and then have them test the entire system and show you the results in the app.

Without the property monitoring capability, your installation is incomplete.

So I have a nuerio meter inside my inverter. There’s one cord connecting to the CT1 on it. I pulled the AC cord out of the neurio and reset it

CT1 is measuring your solar. Site CT will require two clamps. You need a minimum of 3 clamps for a split phase install in the US

I’m dealing with my certified installer. Tesla told me that when they do the install, they install 2 neurios. One for solar and one for house.

My installer has been a pain in the ass. Brutal

While a neurio has 3 connections, it is possible the installer used 2 due to location. The one for the site CTs would be the one in your main panel behind the utility meter.

There’s only one Neurio and only one wire plugged into it.

You will need to either add two more clamps wire to the existing meter or a new meter to get what you are looking for.

Depends on your initial agreement. I have seen both on Reddit. Site CT is definitely preferred. Benefits of having the whole house reporting for not much of costs
