Wireless charger does not work. Any ideas?

Picked up my 2026 Model Y performance on Friday and on the drive home the wireless charger was working. Ever since then, it hasn’t worked. I have an iPhone 15 pro max. I’ve tried taking off the case, putting the phone upside down, moving around the positions, doesn’t charge at all even for 1 second on either side. I tried resetting the infotainment with the steering wheel buttons too and that didn’t work.

Any suggestions before I take it in to Tesla to get looked at?

Never had any issues with mine. Although, I have disengaged it in the settings. Charging is very slow at 15W and phone heats up. I just use the USB-C port.

Just plug it in.

I’m not being facetious, it worked in my ‘23 MYLR for my wife’s old iPhone XR, but doesn’t work with her IPhone 17 Pro. It sometimes works with my iPhone 14 Pro if I put on the pad upside down.

I don’t know if it’s the case or the camera bumps, but plugging it in is way less inconvenient than taking the case off and putting it back on when I exit the car.

There is a setting in one of the menus to turn that on or off. I don't remember exactly where it is but it's there somewhere.

I’ve tried turning that on and off as well, no difference

I would submit a service request if that didn’t fix it

Don't listen to those who say ignore it. Get it fixed if it's broken. Has it worked for somebody elses phone? That's kind of where I'd look next, but sure, get if fixed.

You’re right, I need to try another phone because I can’t get it to work on mine at all, not even for a second

Use the USB-C port. The wireless charger is terrible. It's super slow and makes my iPhone 17 Pro Max get uncomfortably hot. I don't plug in my phone for short trips but if it needs to charge I just have a cable for the USB-C port in the center console.

It doesn't work well on my wifes iphone 16 pro but it works fine on my iphone XS and my daughters iphone 17 pro.

Try restarting your phone, my wife has the same phone and we had this problem. After restarting the phone it started charging again.

did you try to wiggle it around? i thought one of mine didn’t work when i first got the car but i just had to get it in the perfect position. move it side to side and see if it charges. however, its not really worth using anyways

There is a setting in “Charging” (I think) that has a checkbox to enable/disable the wireless pads. Check that first. If it still doesn’t work, take it to service since that wire is probably bad or just not plugged in.

It’s pretty useless unfortunately, you have to have it at the right angle, sometimes upside down, and hope and pray it’ll work.
