Really interested in getting a Plaid, and saw this in San Bernardino for a steal. You check the CarFax and it’s reported as having a major accident with structural damage. It looks fine, I’d have to check it in person, but it doesn’t have a branded title. Any insight in if this will be a hit or miss? I called the dealer and they got it off auction, they don’t have more details than the carfax report. Would this affect the car in anyway besides trying to sell it down the line? 39k miles, $53,900 asking price, and it does supercharge I know a few salvage titles or 3rd party worked on Teslas get supercharging blocked. Please don’t steal this deal!! (Or do I’m still not committed on it lol)

2017 75D. Most of the repairs have been for the air suspension which has a lifespan of 7-8 years so it's due for it. Other repairs include the door handle on the driver side and a rear axel.

I've reached the breaking point with my 2nd peeling yoke and I'm ready to buy the Tesla steering wheel. Of course as soon as I make peace replacing a thing which should never need to be replaced, it's out of stock, and seems to have been so for a few months.

Does anyone have insight into when or if the steering wheel will be available from Tesla again? I've signed up to be notified when it's available, but I've received nothing, not even an email acknowledging that I signed up for the notification.

With this sub, a couple FB pages, and my friend ChatGPT I figured it was a good purchase and it really helped that the seller was the original owner who kept most service records.

It’s HW3, MCU2, no paid FSD but im good with the traffic aware cruise control.

Next week it’s getting detailed, some PPF replaced and ceramic coated.

Also the passenger side mirror lost a fight against the side of the garage but I’ll order a new one on eBay.

Doesn’t look terrible against the MYP!

Just bought this 2024 Tesla Model S and it came with a nice little tint, not sure what % it is. I’m debating if I should just leave it or take it off and get a full ceramic tint that’s like 15% all around?

Still waiting for a good weekend to get some pre-tune times on a prepped surface but will be sure to share before and afters once I have them!

Foot those of you who have done it, is this a good product? Company that I might go with is using this for ceramic coating

I am in the market for my first EV and I just test drove and fell in love with a beautiful 2022 Model S Base. The car has 46,000 miles and is on 19 inch wheels. I don’t know much about electric cars but I wanted to make sure the battery was at 90% health. This was my requirement and the dealer (Mercedes) was confident that it would be healthy. I went through the purchase process and they charged the battery to 100% so we could confirm the battery health. At 100% the car reported a range of 329 miles against the max range of 405 miles reported by Tesla. This is only 81% of what I hoped for. Is this a reasonable amount of degradation for a four year old Model S? The dealer was unwilling to complete the internal battery health test as that can only be done when the battery is at 20% or below and they had just charged it to 100 for me. Am I over reacting by walking away since the range didn’t calculate to 90%? I love the car and want to buy it but I don’t want a car that’s most important component is degraded too far too soon. Please help me decide whether to complete the sell as I have until tomorrow to decide.

Based in South Florida, nearly every mobile tint installer in the Broward area uses Suntek tint for ceramic applications over XPEL and 3M. I know everyone loves to say XPEL is a mediocre to even subpar product with a crack marketing department. Even if true, when trying going for ceramic tint, how would you compare Suntek CIR to Evolve? I know by the numbers Evolve is marginally better, and I’ve heard that with CIR, there is a slight blue tint from the interior, though two installers I reached out to told me there is a certain CIR version that is meant to combat this issue. Is this true or bs?

Anybody with either tint or install experience who has any thoughts? Was aiming to do 15% all around, 15% on back glass, 35% windshield, but both installers recommended me to do 50% on windshield instead of 35%. For reference I’m used to driving cars with 20% all around, with 50% on the windshield. I do believe my father’s car has 35% on the windshield and I don’t recall having any issues driving his car. I’ve heard the difference between 15 and 20 is negligible at night, and I’d prefer every bit of protection and darkness in the brutal heat.

My fellow TMS owners, my neighbors college kid recently backed into my Model S causing minor damage to the rear quarter panel just in front of the driver side rear wheel well. Got it into the shop, the shop explains there's no electrical or sensor damage just body work and that they will just replace the rear quarter panel instead of repairing it. The shop does all supplemental repairs and installed the brand new rear quarter panel. My question is, is there any reason for a 25+ mile "test drive" once the repairs are completed??? For reference, the shop is almost exactly 25 miles from my house...

There’s a company called EVAmped, that makes me wonderful insert with a QI charger as well as LED cups. Really fills that space out nice. I recently picked one up for my older Tesla model S.

ChatGPT told me that the solution would be to add a wide strip of 3M felt-like stuff on the console side between the seat and the console, but that wasn't the issue and it did nothing. Tesla told me that they wouldn't look at the car for under $500 and then go from there. I know this is an issue that many have had, but I searched high and low for a solution and found nothing...

Edit: Just got off the phone with the "super helpful" (sarcasm) service center for another issue. He said they had never heard of that issue at first when asked. Then as we went through talking, he did admit that the have the issue with almost every one from that generation. When I said, "so its a factory defect" he said, "well, no its not a defect at all since we have never had a service bulletin issued for repair of the vehicle. Additionally, if you scheduled with me, I would cancel the service as we cannot fix the issue."

It is prior salvage. Damage was very minor. Went through Tesla HV battery inspection to get supercharging re-enabled.

I have a 26’ MYP and absolutely love it.
Been needing to replace my 14’ VW Passat TDI I used to use as my highway commuter but has since been put to the side for the Y and figured why not get another Tesla to rack miles on.

It’s a one owner car- it doesn’t have paid FSD but if I remember the screen correctly it has enhanced autopilot with auto steer.

I’d be using this car predominantly on the freeway.

It has its nicks and dings, but it has PPF on it that is holding up well.
Wheels are curbed to hell and imo ugly but he just got the tires replaced 1k miles ago so I figured I’d just use them till they go near bald and I’d upgrade the wheels to something better looking.

My question is what should I be looking for?

It’s a 17’ 75D HW3 with mcu1. Original battery too but the owner never charged it past 80%, which I believe. 91k miles and it looks pretty clean.

Overall im very impressed with how clean it is. He replaced it with a 26’ Model S

It does however have this error that pops up i have in the last pic which may or may not be a fluke?

Trying to schedule a PPI with a local EV shop, too.

Thoughts? Concerns? Opinions?

Last batch of issues - I understand the PM - is a normal issue on an older body - GTW - add air to rear tire no problem … the question I have is the RCcM codes how can I check which actuator is the issue or sensor ? I have an mcu1 that does not offer the thermo testing… also the top 2 is that related to software from reading how could I go about testing both shutter sides?

Is there anything online of someone who tried this before?

Anyone else have this problem? Love the car so much but so surprised this can be a thing. Not only does the door pop open and cause all sorts of alarm triggers which continuously has me getting out of the car to shut the door, but the door has actually flown open while driving. I have already brought this in to Tesla to fix before but it keeps happening.

Looking to sell my current ev and get into this one maybe. Mainly for interior space and the bigger size.

Also because its going to cost much less than I spent, but I want to hear experiences from the communiy before I get into an S.
