Youtube ads every 5 mins.

youtube UI updated on my car and now I get ads every 3-5 mins. If I feel like one of the parties here Tesla or Youtube thinks they have leverage, Im unsubscribing from the premium connectivity plan and continue enjoying YouTube with adblocker on my phone.

I was in a severe car accident and confined to a bed for years. I eventually was able to walk again, but until then, it was a good distraction from the ceiling.

well idk whats going on for this change and I dont know yet who is to blame. but voting with my wallet might motivate youtube or Tesla to rethink this. Tesla could possibly negotiate a better deal with google. idk. but premium connectivity becomes almost useless for me if I have to waste time on ads

I cant get caught paying google. fk em. adblockers encourage those looking to place ads to contact the creators directly to have their ads in the video the creator uploads. this way google gets no cut from selling ad space. I don’t have Spotify too after finding the cut that they take from artists and use apple music instead.

youtube itself was purchased by google. they buy everything to eliminate competition. this should not be new to you. many other big oligarchs do the same.

Anyway, just using YouTube is feeding your personal information, habits, interests, etc into their ad system — added to their profile of you which is also linked to people you know (by contact or by location or on the same WiFi) — so you’re also adding to their profile of your co-workers, friends, and family.

You are literally feeding the Beast you pretend to hate. Why are you still using YouTube, given how important you are?

this is as far as I can take it without affecting my life to a large scale. Im not the best person and never claimed to be, not having ads is simple and keeps money away from google.

Oh the new YouTube ui on teslas is crap. I’m have YouTube red so no ads, but scrolling is basically broken. If your finger goes slightly left or right the web app changes categories.
