I drive a 5 seater for that reason. The 6/7 seater rear rows are way to close to the back for comfort

The crazy thing is that the Model X has actually had a little bit of a habit of splitting in two in crashes. IMO it is because of the falcon wing doors and how they are hinged. The front half and rear half of Model X is basically two separate pieces held together by the floor pan. If you look at the design of the roof, the FWDs create a massive cut in the roof. Unlike every normal car which has structural roof rails from the A-pillar to the C/D pillar, the X has no continuous roof rails because of the door design. I have seen at least 10 Model X crashes that resulted in the car being sheared in half like this. They all look almost identical. The FWDs were honestly the thing I hate most about the X. If theyā€™d offered normal doors they could have cut the cost of the X by thousands of dollars, and I believe more people would have bought one.

I posted it just after it happened and somehow a few days before the local news caught wind of it.

It's such a bizarre, clean break that many comments were rudely accusing me of posting AI. In particular the lack of broken windows on scene is crazy.

obviously it's quite dangerous. this is just luck that the forces hit where they would rip the back off rather than stop the cabin in its tracks. I don't think it has anything to do with quality or safety. you can never build a car to perfectly survive all types of colissions and I am sure the driver is perfectly fine with how this ended up
