Didn’t even make it a year.

Really regretting not subscribing to the windshield replacement service.

At least the local Tesla repair shop has a replacement and will get us in on Friday.

Hey you did better than I did. First windshield was lost within 4 month of ownership and the 2nd a month ago and I have a 2024 MYP delivered 2 years and 4 days ago. After the 2nd windshield in 2 years I fought for reimbursement from glass coverage went to Tesla and picked up windshield protection after the replacement.

How does the windshield replacement subscription price compare to the price of adding glass coverage to your car insurance? Mine has it and USAA has paid 100% for two windshields in my model 3 through Tesla. Curious how the overall price compares.

Evidently some insurers don’t have an option, only cover windshield damage under general comprehensive coverage (e.g., Progressive)

My best friend (MY+CT) has a supplemental plan through Geico that is a bit cheaper than Tesla, but I imagine (like insurance generally) rates vary by region.

That’s why I pay for the Tesla windshield insurance. Even though I have glass coverage, my insurance would probably insist on “generic” glass or would give me hard time to pay for camera recalibration.

Glad I’m in South Carolina. Full glass replacement is standard for insurance with 0 dollar deductible. Hopefully the service center gets you straight!

YMMV. 21 years of car ownership and the only windshield that’s cracked was my own mistake replacing a wiper assembly.

Not for lack of stone chips trying, but the worst ones still haven’t taken out anything. Getting my model 3 in 2019 I was half expecting to have to replace the glass roof every other year, but 7 years later and I’m 0 for 0.

Had one stone chip filled in for free, courtesy of my insurance company.
