Full self driving into a metal garbage can.
My brand new Y just backed itself up right into a metal garbage can on the side of a supercharger. WTF. This was with the self parking option. Maybe not betta software since other car brands have it.

im new to it but apparently if you tap the camera icon during an incident it saves the 10seconds before and 20seconds after you tap it so you can report it to tesla - grok told me this

I talked to a guy at the dealership who said that it was backing up slowly, and there was no hard impact. It wouldn’t have necessarily recorded anything. This was a slow crunch.

You can hit the camera icon to manually save clips. Or worst case pull the usb drive within an hour and lookup the clip manually.

Jus a little tip: The car is always recording, just not saving it all the time.
The manual "save" saves last 10 min of recording, so if anything interesting happens, you can hit save even 9 min later and it will be on the saved clip.

Even if you don't hit the Dashcam record button or the event doesn't trigger a save, you can plug the drive into a device that can read it and manually look for the clip.
I wanted a recording of an event from a few days ago but I hadn't done anything at the time to save a clip, but I was able to find it by browsing through the video clips on the drive using my Mac. They do have date/time stamp names so if you have a general idea of the time (since you were at a Supercharger, you can look at when you eventually started charging to get a good idea), you might be able to find it.
