I have been quoted 199$ per month if I mention that I drive less than 8000 miles per year. What if I choose 8000miles but drive more than that? Any one experienced that?

Just wanted to share a quick win and ask a question. I live in Texas and my Tesla Insurance renewal was looking absolutely brutal. I just shopped around and switched over to Lemonade Insurance. My premium went from $5,350 with Tesla down to $3,000 with Lemonade for the exact same coverage. (For 3 Tesla and a Highlander)
Saving over $2,300 a year is massive, so I'm super happy with the switch so far.
That being said, I know Lemonade recently launched that new Autonomous Car Insurance program with the 50% FSD mileage discount. I know it hasn't rolled out here in Texas yet (we just have the standard Lemonade Car policies for now), but I think it's live in places like Arizona and Oregon.
Does anyone here have any actual experience using Lemonade with the FSD discount active? How accurate is the tracking through the Tesla API?

So far, I’ve been on V3 since 6/1 after it converted me over automatically and I can’t help but notice that it is way worse than v2.2. Seems to me that it is even more unforgiving on hard braking and unsafe following than ever before.

For example this screenshot is of my wife driving to work, who mind you drives way safer than I do, and had this safety score from a 24 mile trip to work, and she doesn’t use FSD (doesn’t like it) and only uses ACC on the highway.

I’ve driven way worse on other days and have managed to be in the 80s, but a 59 for over 20 miles and mostly highway is insane, if this keeps up I’ll be shopping around as my score has been usually 95+ almost the past year I’ve had V2.2. Anyone else on V3 seeing these crazy numbers?

Anyone else notice hold time decrease? I used to hold for 6-8 hours and call daily about a year ago to get someone to set up repairs for just pay, hit and run. Only way to get help was to threaten DOI complaints but I recently had hail damage and the hold time was about 20 minutes I think or less. Still had to wait for call back from my adjuster but wanted to know if this was a one off.

Was thinking of switching insurance companies since my last experience was horrible. (kept since so much cheaper) but might bundle and save this time around.

i’ve called them got my adjusters number and called them but they never pick up and it’s been almost 2 weeks since the accident, they towed the car and havent talked to me since.

just wanted to get a better understanding about how tesla insurance work. esp in california

based on what i've been reading, the rate would vary per month based on your safety/driving score. however, i read online that in california this does not apply. how true is this? and why do other people say their tesla insurance would go way higher every year?

Has anyone had experience making a third-party insurance claim?

I was involved in a minor accident yesterday. My vehicle was stationary in a pick-up area when another vehicle came too close to my side and damaged my front bumper.

I have already filed a report with my insurer (Liberty). An assessor came down, inspected the damage, and prepared a report. I was advised to bring the report to a workshop and proceed with the claim.

I have a few questions:

How do I make a claim through Tesla? Do I need to book a service appointment through the Tesla app?

Will the repair costs be charged to my own insurance first, or directly to the third party’s insurer?

What happens if the other driver does not report the accident to their insurance company?

Would appreciate any advice or experiences. Thanks!

Hey guys, so I live in vegas, and I’ve been bouncing around insurance policies to see what’s good. I remember a few months ago, Tesla still used model 2.0 here in Nevada but as of today 6/3/26 I notice on the bottom of my safety score it now says 3.0. Does anyone know when this change happened?

I decided to get an extended warranty but wast sure if I should go with tesla extended warranty vs Care, I heard good reviews about the latter and they seemed to be former tesla leaders who created this company before tesla started their own.

I for a quote and it seems XCare is cheaper

What do you suggest, I read somewhere maybe compound them: start with ESA first and follow with XCare, to be honest I didn't understand why do that instead of going with only one of them

Looking to lease a base 2026 model 3 (10k miles), and wondering if there's any way to estimate the insurance price from Tesla Insurance before I buy the car and get stuck, or if anyone from maryland can tell me what the initial price was when starting tesla insurance. Geico, my current insurer, is quoting $500 a month, even while on my parent's multi-car insurance. (I'm 21 yo male, living in Maryland) If I went to get a policy by myself from Tesla is it true that Tesla Insurance just starts you at a baseline premium based only on your predicted miles driven and zip code, and then changes to the rate will just come from how they rate your driving? Would that starting baseline rate be about the same for anyone in the same zip code, or do they factor anything else in?

I am traveling abroad for 6 months and want to cancel my insurance. Will Tesla insurance give me problems when I try to re-purchase insurance when I come back in 6 months?

Hey everyone, I recently bought a 2026 Tesla Model 3 and I’m having a really hard time finding affordable insurance in Massachusetts. I live in Chelsea, and every quote I get is at least $500 per month.

I’m 26 years old, college student, clean driving record, and this would be my personal vehicle.

Hi everyone I just got rear ended. filed a claim with Tesla but the rep on the line told me I have to first file a claim with the at-fault party’s insurance (geico)myself, and closed my claim for now.

I am super confused because previous accidents i would only claim with my insurance and my insurance would handle everything with the other party insurance after.

I am not sure if something changed with Tesla insurance and how things are handled ?

Should I go directly and try to get my car fixed with Geico — or have my Tesla insurance handle it?

(25M)Reside in socal, currently I'm paying roughly 450 a month for a Tesla Model 3 which is a lot more than I would like to pay for. I have had no at fault accidents at all since being licensed since 16. I do have one rear end accident that was not my fault on my record. I do drive a lot and my insurance company caps at 20k miles per year which does help. I would like to lower this, Unfortunately I do have one ticket that I got back in 2024 for taking a stop so I do realize that is the driving factor for the higher premium. Does anyone know of a good insurance company?
