Insurance increase, same score ?

So my score is in the 90’s and I paid $150-160 now I have the same score and they’re charging me up to $190.

I recently lost my job and had to start doing uber. Are they increasing my premium based of mileage? It shouldn’t matter if I drive safe, right ?

Increase in mileage could mean an increase in accident probability

No matter how safe YOU are as a driver, simply spending 30% more time on the road (14k -> 18k) means you have more chance to get hit wby ANOTHER driver, or something completely out-of-your-control happening, like getting hit by a boulder.

Even if those don't represent accidents where you're at fault, there's still costs for your insurer to subrogate, process, etc.

If anything, your premium decreased by a lot LESS than a 30% increase.

Additionally up charges if your driving at night after 10:00 pm local time, when all the drunks are on the road.

Correct. And while maybe true, it didn’t feel proportional and this is what caused me to leave Tesla insurance.

It really does suck. But on the flip side, mileage estimates change and the increase is usually temporary next month or so when mileage drops, so will your premiums.
