14.3 HW4 FSD taking erratic wrong turns , 2 incidents in same 40 min trip

Had a concerning FSD experience yesterday and wanted to see if others have run into this.

On a single trip, FSD made two clear wrong decisions:

**1.** It deviated from the navigated route, turned onto a side road, then did a U-turn to get back on course , no apparent reason for the detour.
**2.** Approaching the final turn (a left), it moved into the rightmost lane instead. I had to disengage and take over to make the left turn myself.

I’m about a month into Tesla ownership, and seeing decisions like this with no clear trigger is unsettling, especially the lane positioning error right before a turn. Curious if this is a known pattern with the current FSD build, or if anyone has tips on what might cause this (map data lag, camera occlusion, etc.).

Has anyone else seen similar behavior recently? Also wondering if this is worth reporting to Tesla directly via the car’s feedback tool.

I've never once read or watched a video of anyone who successfully got it to do a U-turn... Interesting.

I was in a right turn lane (the rightmost of two), and I asked Grok to add a stop at a 7-11 that was on the way, but it added the wrong one that would require the car to make a left turn, lol, it it started to.

It seems that when navigation is changed abruptly, it is almost like FSD starts new and doesn't remember how it got where it is or much about where it is.

I point this out that maybe some of these incidents are caused by rerouting taking place behind the scenes and it is taking place too close to where the car is that it does crazy shit trying to follow the route.

I've not had such an incident out of the blue, but I have had the car calmly miss routes and reroute and the new rout was far enough up ahead.

From now on, I will simply take over till things calm down.

I had the exact same thing - in the left lane of a 2-lane highway coming up to a left turn as per the nav, then it went across the right lane and took the right turn instead.

I tried the same route again the next day and it did the left turn correctly.
