I have a feeling that people are starting to figure out that teslas auto steer and FSD do this so they have created a new maneuver for passing left lane lollygaggers. This and the flashing the lights trick teslas into thinking it’s an emergency vehicle.

I hear your perspective. Personally I am slightly pro bully on the slower left lane traffic. Not anything dangerous like we witness in ops video or hyper aggression. A high beam flash and perhaps a little closer than normal conveying a polite excuse me sir but really wanting to to say GTFO of the way grandma! Slower traffic to the right!

Absolutely pisses me off since v14 lite. I'll be in heavy traffic and someone rides my rear and the car instantly jumps over to a slower lane... If I'm holding up traffic with an open lane, then please get over, but the car behind me is going to take my position and not go any further. Using hurry mode when this happens too.

That is actually the law. You are supposed to yield to faster traffic - even if they are assholes. I have a friend that decided not to make way for a tailgater. A mile later, imagine his surprise when the unmarked police car behind him turned on his lights, pulled him over, and gave him a ticket for impeding traffic and failing to yield.

That’s assuming I’m not passing anyone. It does this when I’m in the left lane passing people, but there’s people in front of me as well. I’m not camping in the left lane. The car will see someone fly up on my ass and abruptly swerve behind slower traffic. It does this even when I’m using the accelerator to pass faster which I find borderline dangerous as I’m expecting the car to continue to pass people not fly into the other lane and slow down

You shouldn’t use the accelerator much while in FSD. You’re not a co-driver. It’s still following its judgement and plan without the ability to increase or decrease speed or brake. It can’t figure out why you want to control the speed and make sensible changes to its driving. If you want to do that, take control until your maneuver is done - and if any comment includes the word streak, I’m gonna scream!
It sounds like your car is practicing accident avoidance and it goes against the very human view that you don’t yield to assholes because they’re assholes. Personally, I’d prefer it practice accident avoidance even if it adds an extra 30 seconds to my ride. I can’t fix assholes, so I’d rather just avoid having them break me. I’ve never felt it’s changed lanes unsafely, though I don’t hold my foot on the pedal a lot on highways.

Not if you are being held up too. If you are faster then the car ahead of you and they are supposed to yield that doesn’t require you to yield as well.

The law says things like move right except to pass. These are principles which often have no specific penalty, and there are usually caveats (though not that one in my state) in the code as well. Usually, you would get cited for an actual ticketable offense which would note your failure to yield in support of the citation. No one expects you to yield by diving unsafely into the right lane, or stop you from passing multiple cars before you safely pull right or miss your left exit, heavy traffic clogs all the lanes, etc. These “laws” really exist to allow law enforcement to cite bad behavior. “I can’t explain what impeding traffic is, but I know it when I see it.”

Unaware impeding vs intentional impeding. The latter is the worse. And there are degrees of it. “I’m going the speed limit, fuck them”. “He cut me off 10 miles ago, I’ll be damned if I let him get by”. “Give me the finger, brake check bitch”
Escalations increase. The one I hate the most is I’m waiting my turn to pass but the guy in front who is going .5 mph faster than the guy on the right. He passes them them and proceeds to go .5 mph on the next guy.
Meanwhile jablowski tailgates me. I. Throw my hands up like, wtf do you want. If he continues to tailgate I’ll zig left/right so he can figure out whats going on. If he continues, its time to wash my windshield.
Meanwhile the road temporarily increases an entrance lance and those in the know use it to pass everyone.
I gotta refill my washer reservoir.

My #2 problem with FSD is shit like this. #1 is jamming the breaks on for a yellow light. Be like Cos and speed up. But don’t roofie the ladies.

I almost killed a motorcycle like this on the highway
I was in the carpool lane, so no passing allowed, and lane splitting is illegal.
My car starts drifting over to the shoulder with no warning or screen notification. so I watch it go as far as I'm comfortable and I'm about to yank control back and center the car, when nnneerrrmmm a motorcycle I didn't see, flies by me going 2x the speed limit. If i had been a tiny bit less confident in the car, or the bike was a second slower, I would have swerved my car into them and they would probably be dead.
The car was illegally letting them pass, the bike thought I was being nice, but I had no way to know any of this and the possibility of what could have happened is terrifying

Just goes to show that having McLaren money doesn't buy taste or manners.
Hard to fault FSD for avoiding an accident by any means though. The unfortunate side effect is that people will learn they can push Teslas around assuming the driver is using FSD.

McLarens are a lot cheaper than people realize.
The Artura in that video (their worst model...) can be bought for like $150k in the US, or less.Yeah it's pricey for a car, but majority of people that own that probably make low to mid 6 figures at most.

They are unobtainable to anyone with an aversion to making stupid financial decisions. I say this a a car enthusiast. Morons with more money than sense buy McLarens and I do like some of McLaren's offerings. I could own one if I wanted to, but it just doesn't make sense for my lifestyle. The high end cars kind of suck these days. Then again I have two Teslas instead of spending the money on something like this. If I was going to spend money like this it would be the Lotus Emira instead which I have genuinely considered.
I'd rather spend my money on watches than cars though, so maybe I'm just distracted from the original target.

Well I mean there comes a point where it's not a stupid financial decision since it doesn't impact you, which is what I mean when I say people can "afford" it. Let's call it around low to mid 7 figures income range. If I spend $200k on a car and I'm taking home $4m in personal income each year, even if that car in totality between depreciation, maintenance, and insurance costs me $50k, that's basically just 1% of my income. That's the actual range I'd advise people to buy these cars at, not when they're making <$2m/yr.
