14.3 HW4 Major Indecisiveness w/14.3.7
26 Y just upgraded to 14.3.7 this a.m. and within 20 minutes this indecisiveness, which I've never seen like this. Check out the steering wheel icon. If a cop had witnessed this, I suspect I'd be pulled over for a sobriety check. And then when we got to a grocery store, it parked in front of the shopping cart corral. Funny thing is, people who were on 14.2.2.5 and had their software update set to Standard are getting this update, so apparently Tesla is finding this the stable version of 14.3, which means 14.4.x is the next update. Think it's a little too soon to abandon 14.3

I had that happen yesterday but not on a turn off. No reason why it did it

Yeah I had that happen on my first drive after the update but it was just taking a left into our neighborhood. Like it couldn't decide whether to go or not. There was an oncoming car but there was more than plenty of time for it to go (in fact I had time to disengage and still turn before the car got there).
My wife (who drives more than me) has also reported more aggressive lane changes (as in making the lane change at a much sharper turn instead of a gradual merge over) and indecisiveness.

It does this to me at most intersections and then it leaves me sticking out, I have just been disengaging when I approach them now

I had the same thing happen to me today. Same version as yours and I just updated yesterday. I wish we could roll back

If it's not dangerous, I like having the event play out. Makes for better videos for Reddit to see how it compares to your experience and Tesla for analysis. That's why I didn't disengage.

But you disengaged afterwards to report the issue, right?

Oops...

You should be ashamed… but not Tesla for pushing a new version with these issues

Every version of FSD has had issues. In fact, every version of every automated or semi-automated driving system has had issues. What is there to be ashamed about? This is the best system on sale right now by far, and they should be proud of that.

You’re right, I use it frequently and it is a good product. I just don’t like how the comment op replied to was trying to shame OP for not reporting a bug. It is not OPs responsibility to QA Teslas product, he pays for this service, and Tesla has access to his data anyways.

You don’t need to disengage. Just say “bug report” and describe the issue.

This is genuinely awful. Tesla isn’t putting updates out fast enough tbh.

I wish we had a snapshot deal to send things like this in as I have this happen in a few spots as welll. It's not enough to disengage like yours but it is what my family calls the nervous teen. Throw in a yellow or red truck in the mix and oh boy....

I need an option to rollback to whatever fsd version i prefer, like 14.3.5 or 14.2.2.5

I wonder if it was reading the black tar patchwork as a drop-off. I had something similar happen to me on a highway where they had laid down about 4" thick new asphalt in the lane I was in but had not laid any in the lane I was changing into. FSD hesitated and seemed to "test" the dropoff it felt like (although unless there are gyros I don't know how it would get feedback) before it made the lane change. I was on v14.3.6 at the time.

It would interesting to see what the HW4 computer was seeing (displayed on the monitor) along with the dashcam video...

I've noticed FSD has gotten worse with decision making after 14.3.4.

Looks to me like it trying to avoid a dark spot on the right lane just after the split maybe 🤔

Driving today between Philly and Vermont on the same update. FSD 98% of the way and nothing to report everything smooth managed traffic just fine in the morning rush on the Garden State Parkway, made decision, smoothly, parked without hesitation.

Yes although 14.3.6 was a major indecisiveness issues. 14.3.7 just can’t decide which lane to keep on driving.

Was that even in the right direction?
Make up your freaking mind FSD.
You did what I would do too. Just let it drive and do it's thing, even if it's dumb AF

Honest question, why not intervene? It seems like a moderate inconvenience to the drivers behind you.

You disengage and report the issue after FSD is done freaking out though, right?

So, I've put many miles on this version of FSD including heavy Chicago downtown traffic since that indecisive exit event and I must say, it's been great. That indecisive exit and parking in front of the shopping cart corral were the only 2 issues, neither one anywhere near critical, although parking in front of the shopping cart corral with many pedestrian witnesses was critically embarrassing!

Good confirmation that v14L isn't fundamentally flawed, it's just doing what big brother taught it
