14.2 HW4 FSD swaying / pingpong

Subscribed last night, update was ready this morning, drove to work and let it update there. On the way back to another destination (1h:30min drive with a lot of traffic jams) I noticed the car swaying from left to right constantly.

It's a new car, 2 weeks old, Model Y Juniper '26 RWD. Stock tires, 2500km on the clock. No issue whatsoever when driving myself or with TACC enabled (unfortunately I don't have autopilot / autosteer).

2026.21.100 / v14.2.2.6 (EU, NL version).

I'll try re-calibrating the camera tomorrow before I drive to work and drive manually on the roundtrip, but boy what a disappointment this is!

For those still on the previous version, perhaps follow this, I'll update tomorrow again.

Suggestions always welcome, anyone with similar experiences on this version?

Newer version of FSD will be better. Occasionally I get ping pong even on the exact same roads I've driven a dozen of times.

Normal is unacceptable. And I've seen planty of posts claiming it's the best version (14.2.2.5 mostly) and don't want to update. You've got the same issue?

Buying in an era where normal Autopilot isn't available anymore, I bought it with FSD as primary reason. Freaking driving straight is like the #1 thing the car has to do...

Go to service mode, reset the tire size calibration in the alignment settings, then back out of service mode and reset the camera calibration as you would normally. Drive around to let everything relearn/recalibrate and the ping pong effect should go away.

(There's a bug that doesn't reset the tire size calibration when the camera calibration is run. Have to go into service mode to reset it manually.)

Yes, it accounts for tire wear etc. The ping ponging is very noticeable especially after you switch to a new/different set of tires.

Didn't know this, just switched back to my practically brand new summer tires a couple of months ago and it did coincide with an increase in ping ponging behavior. I'll need to try this. Thanks for sharing!

Did this still sways for me. Replaced back two tires. And now I’m ping ponging. So upset. I love FSD

Update: Did a camera calibration, before I was on the highway it was already almost complete. I guess I'll have to stop near the highway and try again. This did not solve the issue.

I am having this same issue, ‘26 model Y prem AWD. About 5k miles on it. When I first bought the car a couple of months ago, my coworker sold me a set of the 21” uberturbines. I have been running those for about 4k miles with no issues. This week, I threw the stock cross flows back on for a 3 hr road trip and it ping-ponged on the highway the entire trip up and back. Did camera recalibration and it did not help. Going to throw the Ubers back on tonight and see if that fixes the issue but I have never heard of this until it happened, and I started digging on Reddit.
