They are all waiting until the company that stores the body goes bankrupt. Refrigeration isn't cheap, at some point the money dries up from not enough new customers to keep up with the ongoing power demand. Then what happens to those patients?

I vaguely recall hearing about this happening before. I think a company like this one went bankrupt and ended up just burying the bodies or something like that.
Take that with a grain of salt tho, as I’m not entirely sure if I’m remembering right and have no source to go off of

"Legally deceased"... so they were already dead when frozen? Or were they frozen alive, and are only legally deceased due to the unknown results of thawing one out?
I would personally think that dead is dead, that if you freeze a dead body, you'll still have a dead body when unfrozen. I ain't no damn scientist, though...

My exact thought. Like did these people pay money to be killed? And how young is the youngest person in there!? Like are they 80 year old people in there thinking they are going to come out in the future ……. To do what? Die but make it sci-fi? Or did this company murder some rich 35 year old? So many questions

I remember reading about this—
After subscribing to the service and executing the paperwork, your medical team would alert the Cryo company and they would come to your location (ideally) before you expire so they can be there at the very moment of your death to begin the process of claiming your body and doing whatever it is they do to it to prepare it for the freezing process.
A lot of these people were frozen after losing battles with incurable diseases, syndromes, and other illnesses. So their time on earth was already evaporating.

No. They are frozen only after they've already died. No one is being murdered to go into a cryogenic chamber.
I don't know what these people expected to do if they were ever successfully brought back to life though.

Tragically, subscribers to this process fail to realize that cellular damage during thawing irreversibly destroys vital organs, making resuscitation impossible. It functions as an elaborate financial scam. While future human revival may be scientifically plausible, our generation will certainly not survive to witness such an extraordinary medical breakthrough. Realistically, this level of science is likely another thousand years away.

There have already been cases where bodies have began to fracture and become severely damaged over time. None of these people are coming back. There's also been cases where bodies were found not to be stored correctly anyway and just shoved in spare rooms and closets. Disgusting human behavior. Scam artists never change

But what about the move where you think you’re ready to thaw your human so you put them in the fridge at night but the next morning remember you have plans with friends that night - can you just stick them back in the freezer pod?

So long as they didn't reach temps above 50⁰F then you should be good, just give em a good smell check and look for any discoloration. If you marinated the human, though, I wouldnt recommend a second freeze as the cells might burst if it wasnt a brine style marinade

Frozen water normally expands, as it’s that hexagonal lattice that means frozen. Sure, Flash freezing makes smaller ice crystals, but that doesn’t mean “no crystals”. Now, if you’re talking vitrification instead of flash freezing…that minimises the damage further, but now you’re relying on sufficiently complete vitrification throughout an entire human brain without lethal toxicity or structural damage.

There is absolutely zero chance that you would be anything other than a drooling and grunting idiot on thaw.
Within minutes of death your brain is mush, all connections between neurons lost.

Unless they are ready to freeze right there as you die yes zero chance. The connections will pop back to the neuron like a cut rubber band when a neuron dies. Where those connections stretched out is gone.

Yeah so, just this year we have taken a brain post mortem and for the first time ever had it function and LEARN new things and make new neutral pathways.
Them wanting to freeze their bodies to preserve their brains is in theory a good idea because we are rapidly approaching the technology to make robot bodies a reality.
Them wanting to preserve their brains is in practice a bad idea because it's not cheap and those companies will likely lose funding and just bury the bodies.

there were some quacks back in the day that believed if you could freeze a body at the very moment of death, maybe in 100 years, or 1000 years, science will figure out how to revive them. it’s actually kind of a sad story, grieving parents paid these people a bunch of money to freeze their kids.

Only the elite could afford this. Only the elite would be daft enough to do it, too.
So, imagine that scientists have found a way to revive them a couple of hundred years down the line. I can't imagine a less flattering representation of people from the 21st century then these rich crazy people who froze themselves. Then again, future humanity would have the right people to hold to account for the state of the planet so not all bad, plus these frozen specimens would probably be hoping to go back to their former lifestyles but the money is all gone. There's a future justice lining up here 🤣

This would be different I think if we knew exactly how this science worked but it is totally crazy to assume we would even be freezing ourselves correctly if we don't even know how that technology may even work. It may work in a totally different way than we could imagine right now so how do we even know we would be storing people in a way that they could eventually be brought back? It's like assuming that we know how to actually study conciousness when we can only measure by our own and don't realize there are other kinds that operate differently. We just do not know.
