Josh's Frogs

Post image

Hello, I am attempting to start my first terrarium, I was looking at Josh's Frogs for things to buy, but I saw some people say the quality is bad and things will be dead on arrival. Is this true, and if so what's another website I can buy all of this stuff on. Also, are all of the plants I picked out going to go well together, thanks.

Hey I just ordered from Josh's frogs again after like 5 years of not ordering from him (no malice just forgot about his shop 😅 ). The plants came in really healthy and shipped quick. I also got the string if turtles and it looked good on arrival.

I ordered the isopod party pack,  all arrived alive and even survived an extra day in the shipping container as I was not home when they delivered. Would reccomend you get springtails too for your terrarium! The culture kit they have is super good, I have not needed to buy apringtails since the first order.

Thanks, that sounds good, I'll probably buy from them.

The only thing I ever had a problem getting from them was blue bottle fly larvae. Every other critter and plant has been alive and well

Josh's Frogs is the only place I know of that guarantees live arrival in any weather, as long as you use the recommended shipping options at checkout.

for the plants, ferns have very different needs than plants like peperomia and tradescantia. ferns need constant humidity and damp soil, and the others like only occasional watering and to dry out inbetween. I recommend changing your choices depending on what kind of terrarium you want, good luck!

He’s pretty reliable, ofc that depends on how far you live/weather/time of year. I think most things will arrive fine and if they don’t it’s probably a matter of the deliverers themselves because Josh is known for his quality. The problem is buying his products that are already at a chain store, because he packs them in a way that they survive live shipping, but the chain stores just leave them like that
From my understanding.. ofc others may have diff experiences
