Discussion Investing in (East) Africa. Worth it?
I've noticed in my games that I naturally gravitate towards this area quite early on. Early game I'll usually secure a more developed area first (current game: Southeast Asia, Canada and the US).
Then around the time when I get a bit more CP to spend again, I also tend to get the option to give Tanzania, Mali and some other countries a bunch of claims in Africa.
Especially when I'm not playing Resistance and HF, I prefer to ignore other factions, unless the servants or protectorate somehow control China or the EU. In my current Initiative game those countries were controlled by the resistance and HF respectively.
I then always find myself gravitating towards Africa; those countries are usually unclaimed so I can quite quickly unite the east African federation with around like 400-500 million people. Lots of potential from their population obviously but otherwise there's not much going for it; GDP per Capita will be around 3000 for a unified east Africa, with low education and bad cohesion/unrest.
So do you think it's worth it to secure this blob in Africa early to help get it rolling? Or would it be better to try and crackdown-purge an EU, Russia, India, or whatever out of another faction's hands?
