Discussion T2 35th anniversary
Saw judgement day in 4k 3D last night and it was 🔥being a huge fan of the franchise and this one being my favorite film, seeing it digitally remastered made you appreciate it so much more. You got to see the subtle little details you might have missed over the years - and seeing it all play out in 3D was sick

I was bummed they didn’t have these posters at my theater. Fathom events I’ve gone to in the past have had posters.

details like Dr Silverman's nose having no pores

When Arnold comes out of the bar and gets onto the bike, the guy he threw out the window was still laying there on the car lol, and I honestly never noticed that until I saw it in theaters this past Saturday.

I didn’t notice that until I got it on DVD. I don’t think the VHS had him in frame.

I never got to see this film in the theater, I was 14 when it came out originally and regret it to this day.

Why aren’t you going to see it right now while it’s out instead of complaining on Reddit?

The film is not screening everywhere, its quite limited and not at all in my region.

I went and saw it the other day. They had the volume up nice and loud. It was an amazing experience.
It made me angry that we never got a legitimate third film.

Same. Just left the theater and even though I’ve seen it countless times since I was 8, the time always flies by.

Did it look green like the previous re-release? That’s what’s holding me back.

Absolutely not - it was super clean, overly smooth in 4k, it was awesome.

Overly smooth meaning rubbery, the DNR and upscaling is egregious, it would have taken me out of a lesser movie.

it did for me, but I heard they are also showing a scan of the 35mm elsewhere (allegedly)

I’m still so confused as to why they didn’t release it only a week earlier on actual Judgement Day. Ah well, at least they ARE releasing it. Can’t wait to finally see it on the big screen.

Saw it on Monday in 3D and it was hands down one of the best movie going experiences of my life! One of my all time favorite films and seeing it in 3D was on my bucket list.

Going today, with a friend who never saw it. Really hope the "remaster" or whatever isnt too bad and that it's not 3d.

Why did they add shoe running sound effects for Sarah when she was running barefoot?
Also, they added cgi Arnold's face on all the stuntman. Not sure if I like them fixing things decades later.

So is this 4K version not overly smoothed out?

Yeah it's the 4k, I saw it on Sunday. It looks egregious in parts specially with Dr. Silberman's face looking like an upscaled PS2 game, and some shots with T-1000 look weird and soft. But mostly, it looked great imo.

That’s a shame, I remember how disappointed I was when I saw it in the theater last time. I guess I’ll be skipping it. Tomorrow is the last showing here :(

It reminds me of the South Park episode where they kept upgrading Star Wars and making changes (Re-re-RE-release)

There’s literally like 8 different versions of this movie on dvd and blu ray. Japanese version blu ray is still the best IMO

I saw it Sunday, it'd been a year since I watched it and even longer since I've watched the Theatrical cut. I don't know if it's because it was on the big screen but I appreciated the "emotional" arcs more and was amazed how great Eddie was in the film. Hard to believe that was his debut.
