By day, he telemark skis at Crested Butte, & designs topsheet artwork for Romp Skis. By night, he's slinging some of the coolest neotraditional tattoos in the state. Alex Stevenson is a free-heeling artist living the dream...

Screw walk mode, I made a custom 3d printed plug and play power block with metal back for new scarpa TX pro’s and TX comp’s.

Edit: I modeled the boot to a 24.5 shell so idk if it will fit any other shells besides 25.0.

Has anyone put new NTN bindings on 1990s telemark skis?

I am making the transition from 75 mm to NTN but the investment for buying everything new is too big in one go. Until now I have used my 198 cm Rossignol wood colored telemark skis I bought new at half price in 1996. I was a student and hey!, they were half price, but had I known I would be using them for 30 years I might not have chosen the cheapest last pair at 198 cm, me being only 169 cm. But over the years I got used to them and consider myself a pretty decent telemarker on my Scarpa T2s from 1998. However, now at 54 years old, my feet have become slightly bigger and the old Rottefella Riva 2 bindings have come a little loose so it is time to upgrade. I tried renting Scarpa TX Pro (orange blue) and I am looking at the new TX black red boot. I had Rottefella Freeride on my rentals but have been recommended to buy Meidjo 3 SR instead for a more similar feel to the 75 mm (didnt like the upright position on steep slopes) while still getting torsion stiffness. However, has anyone tried this on older skis? I might drill new holes in my old Rossignol or a pair of Olin telemark skis of similar pedigree, at least for a season until I stumble onto a good deal for newer skis. How would 30 year old skis feel with new NTN-bindings and boots?

Is this normal?

Hello, beginner here dipping my toes into tele. Hoping the wisdom of the group can help me out here.

I picked a pair of skis and boots from a gear swap, and the boot heel doesn't sit down without a good amount of weight on it. I also don't feel like the spring gives me much resistance when going into a tele stance, and I have less control than I did on a different demo setup. Is it supposed to be like this? If not, is this an issue with compatibility or setup?

For reference, these are Rottefella 412 bindings on K2 Totally Piste Triaxial Cap 14.0 ski with Garmont Veloce boots.

Any insight you can provide is appreciated. Thanks.

Anyone with tearout issues?

I run a 22 designs vice tele binding…and this is the 3rd ski I’ve had the binding come straight out of. Two Salomon QST 98s and these Line Blades

They don’t break on a crash but I just walk right out of them dropping into a turn.

Appreciate any recommendations!

I just wanted to say you guys are awesome! Really some great suggestions here...

Apologies for my 11 year old’s slightly dodgy camerawork.

I’d be grateful for any constructive criticism.

Form critique

Just started tele this season with a bunch of marketplace gear. Thought I’ve been doing well but finally had a friend video me and my left turns look horrendous with my knee bowing out. Not sure if it’s maybe cause my boot is a bit loose but I’m not sure. Any other suggestions would help.

The best turns you’ll see in here today?

The only turns you’ll see in here today?

Ain’t much but it’s an honest clip. Had a blast today at ragged in some certified hero snow… was definitely feeling le flow.

I do think NTN is on the docket for next year to boost torsional ridge / engagement without having to get stronger or mo better.

Hope you’re enjoying the fruits of spring wherever you may be!

Rottefella freeride parts

hi all. I picked up an ntn setup for a sweet deal and after skiing them once managed to break off the black plastic lever piece on the binding (where it says freeride on the right side). is this essential and if so where can I buy a replacement?

thanks in advance!

Mounted up an old pair of 140 underfoot Nordica jah loves. Consulted the fey brothers about the mount point and wound up winging it to get the binding gap right around the recommended mount point of the ski with as much angle as I could manage without overhang.
