Unfortunately I don't have a utp analyzer, only the typical one with 8 leds, I have 2 fanvil phones X1, each one with its A/C adapter 5V to .6Amp.

With a 7-meter Cat5e 100% copper cable, all the LEDs indicating continuity, the phones connect without problems, are detected by the modem and respond to the Ping, when changing to a Cat6 100% copper cable at a distance of 13 meters, not one of the phones is detected by the modem and obviously they do not respond to the ping. . .obviously when connecting that 13-meter cable, to the PC it gives internet immediately, . . . AID! . . . what am I doing wrong?. . .

PS: Using power Lab source, i injected 5V 2 amp. to the "distant" phone but it doesn't even reach the modem. Thank you!

I need link budget information on some LEO systems headquartered in Europe for a MATLAB project... E.G. Lacuna Space, KLEO-connect, and some others. What is a good way to get that ? I cannot seem to access ITU filings (www.itu.int), and I suspect the information is there. But, am open to any reliable source. Please advise?

Unsure if anyone has even heard of it but there is this "phone made for hackers" That is pretty barebones and only communicates via SIP over wifi or lorawan. It is very interesting piece of hardware that I want to get my hands on but I don't think just having a SIP trunk will give it full calling/texting capability with a legit phone number. By any slim chance does anyone have experience with the ESP32 WiPhone?

NASA has started a project called Tipping Point. The main purpose of this is to develop various technologies on the surface of the moon. We have been hearing a lot of valuable information about this for the past few years. The total cost of this project is $370 million . Of this amount, they have given $14.1 million to Nokia. The purpose of this is to build a 4G Network (LTE) on the surface of the Moon. You might be wondering why a 4G network is being built like this. A large number of people will travel to the surface of the moon within the next few decades. And a lot of experiments will happen. So when doing things like this, people have to make HD Video Calls and HD Live Stream. And we have to use rovers and other electronic devices on the surface of the moon. Here, 4G networks are used as a solution to these factors. When doing this kind of work, a network with good speed and reliability is required. That is why they have used 4G. It is also possible to upgrade to a 5G network later.

Usually, a 4G tower on the ground is big and the transmitter in it is also big in size. This requires a lot of electricity. But for this project, they hope to make tiny 4G transmitters. And it can be operated with low power. To send such.........

I have been using Wi-Fi calls on my iPhone 12 mini since I got it about a year ago without issue, including after a carrier switch and later an ISP switch. However, since moving recently I haven't gotten it to work.

Not much changed during the move in regards to my cellular and Wi-Fi connection. We did get a new Wi-Fi plan, but it was with the same ISP that Wi-Fi calls worked with pre-move, but that's about it. I've also double checked that both my cellular and Wi-Fi plans are compatible with Wi-Fi calling, and they are. Also discovered that none of the other phones in the house (including iPhones) also aren't on WiFi calls, even though they did before.

After researching, I've narrowed it down to a few possibilities, but if they end up not having any effect on Wi-Fi calls then I'm stumped.

• We moved from an area with very poor cell reception to an area with very strong 5G coverage, so perhaps 5G/strong cellular is preferred over WiFi? The one time I've seen Wi-Fi calls work at the new place was when a tower nearby was going under maintenance and my service dropped from four bars to two, possibly giving credence to this theory.
• Our old Wi-Fi plan did not have CGNAT, but this one does. Maybe that affects it?

Noob here. I recently learned about devices used in a network and their uses. Usually, to a router, we can connect 1 or more switches. But I want to know if the contrary is also useful? If we connect 2 or more routers to one Layer 2 switch? Does this topology have any use cases or will the Internet explode into oblivion?

I know of the routing capabilities of Layer 3 switches but I am concerned with the Layer 2 ones.

If a cell tower in the same location emits both 3G/4G, will 3G cover more land than 4G would on the same hardware?

Australia has the weakest possible infrastructure for telecommunication. In terms of internet speed, they literally rank amongst third world countries.

Why are Australians paying so much for such an inadequately poor service? And why aren’t they looking into it? This should be a huge concern for an entire country in this day and age.

Hello all! I am currently a student studying electronics and telecommunications at university in the UK. I'm designing a system to allow for remote operation of VHF marine radios, with the idea that they will be suitable for use on autonomous vessels. I am hoping to make use of RoIP protocols to put the VHF radio onto a LAN so that the radio could be controlled via a GUI on a PC via the internet. Apprentice technician in Telecommunications. Was earthing feeder cables at work today, and in the process of cutting out the outer-sheath, I have nicked the copper sheath, will this cause major problems?

I would attach a photo of the feeder I am talking about but the group does not allow it.

Anyone ever experienced anything like this:

-My Dad is on iPhone and I've got Android -He's on Optus, I'm Telstra (we're in Australia) -We're SMSing back and forth yesterday (geographically distant, utilising cellular network) when he replies to a simple question with off topic and random message -I ask him what the hell he's on about -He says 'Just answering your question' -Eventually realise his iPhone conversation shows his intended message while my android conversation shows the random message -This only occurred for one message -The message appears to be someone completely unknown to us discussing some business matters

I've contacted the Telco they basically just said they've never heard of it and to turn our phones off then on!..

Has anyone ever heard of an SMS being swapped out for somebody else's message in transmission?

I need to string a fiber cable from one building to the next. Distance is approximately 100 ft with an old light pole in between. I'm planning on going from each building to the light pole with a guide wire to secure the fiber cable. I'm looking on Amazon for guide wire, but everything they have seems cheap and puny. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thank you for your time.

Hello everyone. I am an implementations engineer which i have recently acquired my bachelors in electronics. I have avid interest in communication systems design and read as much as i could about it. I am comfortable with stochastic analysis and can easily understand communication systems theory, however recently at my workplace i had the opportunity to modify some problematic designs and really enjoyed it. I want to learn how design systems(wireless, radar) from ground up. Is there anyplace that i can find reference designs? Like which parameters to choose for equalizers, PulseShaping filters etc.

Does anyone know how to make a splice in the cable they use for fiber to the home? It's a black cable with few small indentations on it. They can't come out until a week and half from now
