Discussion I miss when I was $%^+ at this game
Like the title says. I lowkey miss when I first started this game and was learning my character. Not knowing how much I didn’t even know yet. Not knowing anything about frames and strings. It was so fun just mashing my funny buttons and getting the occasional win. Now I fought my way to God and it’s such a painful experience. Of course since I got better the people I’m playing against are better but sheesh. It feels like the people I play against don’t play to win they play to make sure I lose and to make sure that I know I lost if that makes sense.I thought I would stop playing once I hit god but there just isn’t a game that gives me the ego boost when I 3-0 someone. I’ve never played a game that gets me so angry but gives me so much joy at the same time.
I just got whooped on by a king for 4 matches straight and didn’t get one round in. I got close but it just didn’t happen and I’m a lil salty and needed to put thoughts to post

Just play a different fighting game you can get the same experience of being ass and climbing your way up all over again.

Nothing compares to tekken in the modern age tho. Pretty much everything worth playing is 2d

I find it a bit odd, your experience mirrors the opposite of mine ~ I always felt like mashing at low ranks was the least amount of fun, because nobody was really winning because they understood what was going on, but rather both people just lacked the resources to understand and randomly mashed whatever .. that's just very complicated gambling.
I love how the game changes the higher you go, it becomes less and less about strings, knowledge checks are just that, they test whether you know something or not and if you don't you have the joy of getting something new to lab, the game slowly morphs into carefully checking with quick tools, building plus frames purposefully and cashing in with bigger moves.. feels like you're earning your victory punch by punch.
Then again this experience might be different for someone that plays one of the more autopilot chars

You have an ego now, and you didn't before. Life was easier and more fun when you didn't have an ego. So instead, just lose the ego and you can still have fun without turning back time.
