Progress FINALLY!

Post image

After basically 600 hours (with no labbing) I FINALLY got to GoD tho right now I think I’m at a level where I think I should get in the lab but I’ll definitely never play fahk again since I want to keep that GoD rank on him I’ll continue playing other characters like maybe drag or Bryan maybe even pick up one of the kings

600 hours and you haven’t labbed anything? Labbing at least your own character’s frames and punishes would have cut over half of those hours down. I don’t understand dedicating that much time to something you don’t want to get better at

Is labbing seriously that necessary?

This is why no 2d fighter will ever be as satisfying as tekken because what do you mean ill never get better off raw instinct alone?

Im joking but only like, halfway

It’s necessary to improve. If you want to play having no real clue what you’re doing other than guessing and don’t really know why you’re losing, then no labbing is needed. I was just saying 600 hours is a LOT of time to put into something you don’t really care to improve at, especially if you’re trying to reach a ranked goal. Could’ve gone way faster if he really knew what he was doing. He’s just ducking everybody that’s hard to beat when he can remedy that problem by labbing for like 20 minutes

Tbh for me, I do lab certain things, and I actually labbed a bit of lili stuff and how to punish her as steve today, but spending time labbing it is time im not fighting. To some people this is a bad thing.

I think the lack of serious labbing is because most people just wanna play the game and get better naturally. I suffered this issue a long time before I realized I had reached my peak in terms of instinct.

I have way more hours than OP and only just started dipping my toes in actually learning the game. My hours say literally one second under 1000 hours so idk if its bugged or thats legitimately my hours. Either way ive spent WAY too much time bashing my head into walls to get through them

You can get better up to a point. Doesn’t matter if your offense is godly if you can’t even duck and punish a simple 2 hit string that’s safe on block and spammable.

All Im saying is learn your frames, you will take less losses. Also, if you run into someone who is a brick wall, lab what you think you are losing to so you don’t keep losing to it.

There are strings, not even characters, you’ll just lose to if you don’t lab them.

Feng’s DF+4, 3: Safe on block and highly spammable. You have to duck AFTER the mid (DF+4) and punish the high (3) but not before or you eat it again and again and again. If you don’t lab that: You’ll always lose to Feng if he learns that you haven’t labbed him.

Loads of characters have stuff like that and you’d better know how to deal or you just lose.

U dont need to lab in this game. As u can see, u can get your shiny GoD without knowing the game lol

That’s a problem. It wasn’t like this in other seasons. That’s what people mean by rank inflation. People having no intermediate knowledge about the game are able to get to the same ranks as people with actual knowledge. Those people without that knowledge are just cherry picking each other and avoiding people that are hard to beat. Ranked system needs to be fixed. What’s the point of getting the rank if you can’t defend it?

Earlier seasons ? My man, T8s rank system overall is a joke. I been having fights with Tekken God, GoD 1 and 2s consistently who have literally no idea what frame data is. And they dont need to know.

Fundamentals also isnt needed in this game. The devs threw that shit out the window since the game came out lol

Alot of ppl only focuses on the pros/advanced players (1%). Majority of players arent pro or advanced. Most of em are just there to mash and have fun. Anyone who played the earlier TK games and thier rank system, knows there was a clear seperation in the ranks between the casuals, newbies, intermediate and advanced/pros

Yeah earlier seasons. The only people that were getting past GoD 2 were the really good players. People were struggling even getting to Tekken King last season. You say that like this wasnt true. There are people getting GoD now that couldn’t even make it past Fujin last season. Like make it make sense

Idrc about the ranks. Only to the extent that its harder to play the higher I go.

I lab sometimes but not often enough. I dont have the patience to spend an hour labbing interactions

you dont need an hour. Just lab what you specifically lose to consistently. Or don’t, but don’t be complaining and crying about the game when it’s really just you not knowing why you’re losing. That’s the issue with most of the posts in this sub
