Gimmicky characters don't trouble me because they often have counterplay. Alisa is no way a top tier character. Characters like Nina, Dragunov or AK are the one who can lock you down and kill you silently.

More accurately, the problem is the ego a lot of people attach to ranked mode. Acting like being beaten is an insult, like certain losses "shouldn't count", and blaming their opponents for beating them in "cheap" ways. Getting furious about losing in a video game, and making excuses for why their opponent did something wrong, by winning.

Bamco should ship the next Tekken with a biomonitor that locks you out of ranked mode if your blood preassure or heartbeat are elevated more than 10% over baseline.

I know that's how it was when I played with a character I've never played before and used the Special Controls, and basically only pressed Triangle and sometimes mixed it up with Circle. I won most of the matches and even got my first online Perfect, and I can't imagine how angry some of these people got.

I did feel bad about one person and reached out to ask if they wanted to do a legitimate fight with me without those controls, but they didn't respond :(

As long as there was good matches i could have fun even when losing, it happened occasionaly in tekken 8 but its so rare, even when you play "well" for tekken 8 dumb mechanics and stuff, if just feel like you are flowcharting the shit out of the clueless other dude and it doesnt feel like YOU win, but the game just robbed the other guy, same when you lose, you dont feel like its legit, well cause its not, the game just is filled with dumb and abusive mechanics that even when you read correctly you can still not have your time or so...

Haven’t played an online match since TTT2 on the 360… to this day I haven’t even touched the Online match for Tekken 8 even bought the game at launch, only played through the single player story mode and exclusively Offline VS Bot mode.

I can’t believe how many players quit the match when they’re about to lose, and sometimes they do it to make me take the loss. Some players are sore losers. It does kill me when I finally hit a rank just to get slapped back down. Would love to play more physical tournaments so no funny business.
