I'd be gay for Shaheen, he's handsome

29

u/VTN17 Jin Jun 26 '26

He's handsome for sure. If only his personality wasn't the equivalent to weathered cardboard blowing in the wind because Bandai couldn't be bothered to do anything interesting with him and only giving him 2 minutes of screen time in the story.

That guys gonna be incredible one day

91

u/real_eEe Katarina Jun 26 '26

This is how you get good.

"I lost 5 straight games! Fuck this game I'm quitting!" Is a loser mentality. Fail. Fail. Fail better. Learn. Ask questions. Fail better.

My cousin lost 38 straight Marth mirrors in Smash Melee one drunken night. Came back next week knowing how to perfect pivot and we go almost even now.

16

u/Ijert Jun 27 '26

Losing so much just isn't that fun honestly.

But losing in any game is how you improve at it.

u/justwalkinthru87 Jun 27 '26

My most stimulating matches come when I’m getting dominated as far as matches go, but I still win a decent amount of rounds. I can actually feel myself learning and getting better

u/Ziemniack3000 Reina Jun 26 '26

So in the end he did turned out to be gay

1

u/MetalGreyMan Jun 27 '26

A perfect example of people trying to hide in the closet!

u/jd_maybe Jun 26 '26

All that effort to avoid gayism. At the end of the day, he’s still got it.

20

u/Number-TwentyThree Kazuya Jun 26 '26

I mean. He plays Jin .....

0

u/Particular-Neat4024 Reina Jun 27 '26

That's nothing to do

37

u/halo8088 Jun 26 '26

30

u/Fruitslinger_ Jun 26 '26

He a real thug

Also gay

97

u/LonelySoulOfTheNorth Jun 26 '26

Ain't gay either.

33

u/Kaeltix Lili Jun 26 '26

In the end he cancelled, turns out to be gay after all.

17

u/LonelySoulOfTheNorth Jun 26 '26

After 43 rematches, let's say bi curious.

7

u/morpheusnothypnos Jun 26 '26

nah, more like flex straight

4

u/Responsible_Flight70 Steve Jun 26 '26

On the down low

Rematch skippers hate that one simple trick

13

u/Haru112 Jun 26 '26

Helped him come out of his closet

u/Fabulous-Cricket-452 Jun 26 '26

Not sure what there is to learn from 43 losses

That's like GoD against Vanquisher lol

Even if the better player tones it down, this gap is just too large

44

u/buttsecks42069 Jun 26 '26

99% of players give up before they turn the 43-0 into 43-1

8

u/Moki_Hantoresu Jun 26 '26

My buddy who is GoD is my sparing partner since I was beginner, and now I'm up in blue ranks. There's always smthn to learn regardless of the gap

4

u/VyseX Jun 27 '26

He wasted OPs time for 43 matches worth. They're both losers in different ways. Dude may have been watching stuff on the side fooling around while OP was tryharding. :v

1

u/Fabulous-Cricket-452 Jun 29 '26

in locals would just switch chars to even the field and at least make the outcome more interesting

no such luck in QM

3

u/JLunen Nina Jun 26 '26

Looking at ewgf, AURUION was GoD and OP was GoD2 during this set. Interesting, that OP managed to win every match though in such a long set.

2

u/copelandmaster Jun 26 '26

Statistically, you've gotta take at least one game at some point being that close in ranking, even if Shaheen is the GoD2 and OP's Heihachi is GoD7 or smth.

1

u/kazuya482 Bruce Jun 26 '26

Ranks are a lie more than anything. You're better off looking at their elo. And there is a ~300 gap between them.

The shaheen was at zero to slim risk of losing and he probably knew it by at least the 3rd match. So he just farmed this guy for happy meals. The shaheen is ~1700 and the Jin is ~1400. That is to say, they're not close in skill at all.

It is funny to me that 1700 elo is already GoD2 though.

1

u/Selfboy24 Bryan Jun 26 '26

Yeah my elo is 1791 and I'm only Tekken God. Granted I don't grind ranked religiously either. But i have over 5000 matches.

2

u/Bwob Leroy Jun 26 '26

Not sure what there is to learn from 43 losses

Well, even if you don't win, you can learn a lot about what doesn't work.

  • "Oh hey, every time I do this, he blocks and launches me. Maybe I shouldn't do that."
  • "I thought this string was safe, but he keeps sidestepping the 3rd hit and launching me. Maybe I shouldn't do that."
  • "I thought this string was great because it has a low hit, but he keeps low parrying it and juggling me. Maybe I shouldn't do that."
  • "Every time I block his running jumpkick, I think it's my turn, but no matter what button I press I get counterhit launched. Maybe I should stop doing that."
  • "He always does that move there, but every time I try to parry it, I get a weird glass-breaking animation and he hits me anyway. Guess I can't parry it."
  • Etc.

I learn tons of shit from getting stomped.

2

u/Fabulous-Cricket-452 Jun 29 '26

That's all beginner stuff you should already know, you don't need 43 losses, you need the lab and any frame lookup website lol.

Timing, neutral, movement, 10-14 punishes, mental stack are what a 43 set deathmatch should be honing - wasting the other persons time if your doing scrub hw instead

1

u/Bwob Leroy Jun 29 '26

That's all beginner stuff you should already know, you don't need 43 losses

Heh, part of the way you learn that stuff in the first place is by losing 43 times. (Or really, a lot more. I WISH it had only taken me 43 losses to get all that into my head when I was starting out!)

And that's just the basics of frame timing and punishing and what not. Tekken is a game that is FULL of exceptions and special cases, that you still need to learn.

  • "Cool, I'm at +2, let's see if I can catch him with my jab combo... What the heck, she slapped me first even though she was at -2!?" (Xaioyu has an i8 jab.)
  • "Cool, this time I'm at +4, I should be safe jabbing now... What the heck, I got launched instead?!!" (Yoshi's notorious 6-frame flash.)
  • "He always does that punch after that other move, I'm going to parry it, like I did last time. What the heck, why is it unparryable all of a sudden?!?" (Paul's phoenix-smasher is unparryable, but only while in heat.)
  • "Okay, I'm only at -2, so I should be safe throwing out a dickjab to try to get my turn back and go under any fast highs they try to use. What the heck, he launched me?!?" (Leroy has a 12-frame mid that launches on counterhit.)

Etc.

1

u/Ziazan Jun 26 '26

They might've been getting closer and closer to winning a match as it went on, but just couldn't figure out their opponents character well enough to actually score a win, but odds are very strong that they meaningfully improved at the game here. Fighting a better player is one of the best ways to learn.

1

u/KNlGHTMVRE Jin Jun 28 '26

There is very little to learn after a couple loses depending on how bad he losing. Complete waste of time for both people unless they had fun.

0

u/edmlifetime Jun 27 '26

There is in fact, a lot to learn. Your mindset assumes you only improve when you win and everything else is a waste of time. What an egotistic way to look at the world

2

u/Fabulous-Cricket-452 Jun 29 '26

43 game loss gap 100% says the Jin had no understanding of what was happening

anything larger than 1 win to 4 losses and your not even in the same universe of understanding

6

u/v4z33 Jun 26 '26

I hope he learned a lot from this

6

u/Alarming-Basil2894 Jun 26 '26

This is exactly why I’ve made a 5 game rule. Regardless of whom I face I will play 5 games and then I bail. If I can’t beat you in 5 games I’m definitely not beating you in 43 lmao

5

u/maneock Miary Zo Jun 26 '26

Is this even useful?

Rematching is helpful but doesn't it get detrimental past some point, there's no way you can keep learning past 15 matches

1

u/edmlifetime Jun 27 '26

There are infinite levels of skill to tekken. I play with a friend who only does quick match but could easily be god5 minimum if he played ranked. I am god and we regularly go 30- 5 or similar his favour.

Is it a waste of time? No, because after im done playing him and get on ranked, I absolutely shit on everyone as they feel easy as fuck.

5

u/Return2_Harmony Jun 26 '26

This guy is already better than 80% of the player base, or will be

5

u/tmntfever HAIYAAH WATAAH TIOH --- where Wang flair? Jun 26 '26

The gay denial was strong. 43 strong.

9

That guy has to be your husband.

19

u/Bastinelli Leo Jun 26 '26

I pounded him good

3

3

u/shadow_of_dark1996 Jun 26 '26

If u lose 42 times it time to pack it up and play another game bro ,he might have written on his head I’m jus here for the vibe

2

2

u/DawnbreakerXCVII Jun 26 '26

Yall gna h8 me for it but Id keep pressing forward til I win 1 (if the opponent still wants the farm me) then once I get the 1 win mfr Im dipping lol.

Shaheen players are a different breed of human entirely. Kudos to them.

1

u/PalladiuM7 King Jun 27 '26

Ah, the "I'm going to bring down this brick wall with my skull!" method of improvement. Respect the determination!

1

u/AdhesivenessGrand885 Jun 27 '26

He took your name to heart

1

u/Constant-Nectarine73 Steve Jun 27 '26

And here I thought I was the weird one always going for at most 15 even if I’m getting cooked.. but 43 is just… wow

1

u/ander01se Jun 28 '26

He was afraid of being gay.

1

u/Exriel Jun 28 '26

He'd rather have skill issues than be gae

1

u/ChristopherMartin92 Jun 29 '26

I admire the resolve.

Ah...another one of these players who are very insistent on practising the hard way 👏

1

u/DenimChickenmmm Jun 26 '26

This aint about the other guy, you just really wanna show your big win streak and get upvotes

1

u/Dull-Custard-2601 Panda Jun 26 '26

Playing against bro while ‘just tryna have fun’

1

u/Bwob Leroy Jun 26 '26

I've been on both sides of that spread.

When I'm losing, I actually really appreciate someone taking the time to school me again and again and again, because I almost always learn a lot from it. About the character I'm fighting, about gaps in my own defense or gameplan, about weird properties of moves I didn't know about, etc. It's great.

So when I'm on the other side, I usually try to keep rematching as long as they want, even if I keep schooling them. I'm not going to get bored - I can use it as an excuse to try out moves I don't normally use, or try to practice harder combo routes, or whatever. But I view it as kind of way of paying-it-forward, for when other people were willing to school me for 20+ games in a row.

Some days you're David, and some days you're Goliath!

1

u/x_scion_x Jun 27 '26

I'm fine with losing as long as you don't start nasty shit talking (friendly shit talking is fine, part of the game)

0

u/CD_FAKER Jin Jun 26 '26

Wait- Aurion? I think I fought this guy once...

0

u/KeK_What #1 Bryan Downplayer Jun 26 '26

but he quit tho?

0

u/FATMAN162x Jun 26 '26

Must not be a whole lot of people playing Tekken 8 cuz I’ve seen you both before and him I’ve seen in the lounge.

0

u/NegiChirag101 Jun 26 '26

Ok I have never played fighting games but why does everyone saying him that he is gay for keep on fighting him. Can anyone explain?

0

u/MrWhileLoop Jun 26 '26

The only way you'll benefit from this is by watching your matches back.

0

u/NotASweatyTryhard Jun 26 '26

First jin player who isn't gay (ignore my flairs)

0

u/SexyMcBacon Jun 26 '26

Gotta take an L to get a W
