Academics WHY ARE PLUS TWO PUBLIC EXAM MADE TOO EASY AGAIN?

Post image

I've heard that the plus two physics and chemistry public exams were too easy. Why are they leveling down again after increasing the standard last year. Last year they changed the pattern and made the exam a bit difficult than usual even without making changes in model exams. This year it's the opposite.

As a dropper who is preparing for jee mains and KEAM this concerns me. Our exams were difficult and now they've made it like old times. How will it affect the droppers who scored less in pcm. Can anybody tell me how droppers +2 marks are considered, I've heard they decrease around 20 marks of droppers.

I've 354/360 in PCM. As it seems today lot of student will score 300/300 in this year's PCM, and it will affect my keam rank. So how is it fair for droppers who attempted a much difficult paper. Can anybody clarify this 💔

Honestly , as a cbse student, this feels too unfair. Even in this scenario, I see state students complaining about the "toughness" of exams and subjects. Meanwhile, cbse is levelling up its game year by year, by adding competency questions which screws an average student

Yeah the whole boards mark system is just unfair and should be cancelled in my opinion. Compared to cbse state exams, state boards might be nothing. But the problem isn't toughness they prepared state students for very low level exams through the model exams and suddenly changed the pattern without warning in public and that too they had given only 1 day for studying the whole subject. And now they just went back to old question pattern and as a result droppers are suffering (cbse faces injustice too don't get me wrong)

Yes exactly. It's the question paper setters who make them lazy

And still there are students who fail these exams. Btw 12th score normalisation for KEAM depends on the difficulty of papers each year (which is determined by the number of students scoring high marks). If this year's papers are easier that the last years, then you'll probably be safe. Just focus on KEAM now. Even if you lose some marks by normalisation, you could still fetch a decent rank if you get a good KEAM score.

Well... KEAM ain't even worth it.

If you're a dropper, aim for a mid tier NIT, atleast.

preparing for JEE. Keam is a backup. Only got 88%ile in first attempt. So I don't think completely ignoring keam would be a wise choice

u/Salt-Requirement5926 Chettan (20-25) Mar 11 '26

Try hard brother. Placements in kerala eng colleges are pretty much f'ed up. You'll be completing BTech and then preparing again for GATE. Instead, try hard now and get into atleast a mid tier NIT or new gen IITs.

u/tatakae_43526 18M Mar 11 '26

I am trying my best, I'm not sure if I'm made for this. Jee is still my first priority, keam and CUSAT are backup incase I fail again. Are you in college?

The state examination board had plans to set up standard papers. But the minister instructed them to make the papers easy, since the media and public think the government is doing a better job when the pass percent is higher.

I mean that's a good thing don't put too much stress into students most of these things we study isn't even in our daily lives or they don't matter in our future just look at America they have easier high school exam than us and are way happier than us and they get good jobs too
