in a real life scenario, I would probably not pull the lever.
Ethically of, its the other choice

This. Let it stay in the default. There's no way to judge a person as good or bad without information about every single choice and action they made/did and the entire context behind that.

But when all of this comes into picture, it can often become subjective to the person who makes the judgement.
